About
The Scottish foursome continue their new music stampede
The Snuts are all about big noises and raw honest performances. Close friends who grew up together in West Lothian, the four-piece love making music with their best mates.
Comprised of frontman and guitarist Jack Cochrane, guitarist Joe McGillveray, bassist Callum “29” Wilson and drummer Jordan “Joko” Mackay, The Snuts got their band name from people who watched them play in school back when they struggled to keep time with each other.
Since 2016, the quartet have been creating songs bursting with vigour including demo tracks Glasgow, Proper and Sing For Your Supper in 2016. An EP called The Matador followed in 2017 offering three more anthemic songs: the title track, What’s Going On and Summertime.
From their 2018 single Seasons' blistering energy to their riotous rock ’n’ roll follow-up Manhattan Project, The Snuts began to evolve into one of Scotland’s most exciting new bands. They also built a loyal following playing live shows in Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and garnering air play from BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio 1 and Absolute Radio.
Adding to their slew of hits with Maybe California and Juan Belmonte in 2019, The Snuts spent a busy year out on the road. Following a sold out headline UK tour and several major festival performances at Reading & Leeds, Benicàssim, and TRNSMT, the alt-rockers supported friend and fellow Scotsman Lewis Capaldi on his tour.
In 2020, The Snuts released new material including their electronic-influenced single Fatboy Slim, the Mixtape EP and the track Elephants – all brimming with their unique energy, passion and addictive sound. They performed From The Tall Ship, a livestream concert broadcast while afloat on the river Clyde, in September.
On 3 December 2020, The Snuts announced their debut album W.L. for release on 19 March 2021 along with tour dates to support it across the UK from May to June 2021 – including a celebration show at Glasgow’s Barrowlands on 11 June 2021 that Cochrane says is for "the fans who have supported us unconditionally”.
