Since their emergence from Walnut Creek, California’s fertile music scene in 2007, The Story So Far have been dead-set on changing the landscape of pop-punk.
Taking their band name from a 2002 New Found Glory track, The Story So Far made their debut in 2011 with their breakout album, Under Soil and Dirt. The band's exploration of the trials and tribulations of first loves and early adulthood instantly struck a chord with a fresh generation of pop-punk fans.
Their status as the genre’s biggest rising stars was solidified with 2013’s What You Don’t See, elevating their sound with sharper production and refined lyricism. Frontman Parker Cannon becoming the face of a movement, their self-titled 2015 album seamlessly blended heartbreak with hardcore-tinged aggression, especially on tracks such as ‘Nerve’ and ‘Heavy Gloom’.
Establishing themselves as significantly more nuanced than a pop-punk revival act, their 2024 album, I Want To Disappear, showcased the true breadth of the quartet’s capabilities. Diving deep into themes of isolation, personal growth and disillusionment, their core identity was blended with even more experimental touches, culminating in a bittersweet slab of alt. rock. The soft, subtle instrumentation of ‘Letterman’ sitting alongside the old-school snarl of 'Jump The Gun’, served as further evidence of a band unafraid to venture into bold new sonic territories.
Offering a powerful voice to those navigating life’s hardest transitions, with over a decade of anthems under their belt, The Story So Far have proven themselves as both stalwarts and innovators of the genre. Returning to UK stages for some of their biggest headline shows to date, you can be sure that they’ll be giving every drop of energy they have to these rooms.
