About

The supremely talented singer, songwriter and actress Kerry Ellis, performs at the Lowry in Salford, Birmingham Town Hall and Adelphi in London in May in support of her 4th studio album, Kings & Queens.

Comprised of 12 tracks, Kings & Queens includes mainly original songs, along with a handful of hand-picked covers. Kerry truly finds her voice on this album, fusing her signature musical theatre style with the contemporary country rock theme for which she has become synonymous.

Hailed as the First Lady of West End musicals, Kerry Ellis was catapulted to fame in 2002 when she landed the role of Meat in the original London cast of We Wil Rock You, a role for which she was especially scouted by Sir Brian May himself. Kerry has gone on to star in a range of acclaimed productions on both West End and Broadway, including Les Misérables, Wicked, Oliver! and Cats. Most recently, Kerry starred as Reno Sweeney in the UK and Ireland tour and Barbican Theatre residency of the hit musical, Anything Goes, alongside Denis Lawson.

Kerry Ellis is a well known West End star and she brought her tour to Whitley Bay. I paid for a meet and greet and it was fantastic meeting Kerry in person. She is so down to earth and friendly. Then for the show itself. Kerry opened it with the title song of her most recent album. She then told us about her past life and how she became the star she is today, and whilst doing that singing songs from various shows she's been in. It was a brilliant show and throughly enjoyed it. I've been a fan of Kerry's for years, but this show was something special and it felt very intimate. The only downside was I didn't want it to end. It's must see show, for anyone that likes West End shows.
