About

Pop superstar and one of the finest songwriters of his generation

Sting leapt to international superstardom in the late 70s and early 80s as the frontman of new wave rockers The Police. With their muscular, radio-ready, reggae-flecked songs, the trio lodged themselves firmly in the upper echelons of the charts with hits including ‘Can’t Stand Losing’, ‘Don’t Stand So Close To Me’, ‘Message In A Bottle’, ‘So Lonely’ and ‘Roxanne’.

The band went on indefinite hiatus in the mid-80s and Sting struck out on his own, landing an instant hit with his first solo album The Dream Of The Blue Turtles. Over the course of the 80s and 90s, he released a string of hugely successful and critically acclaimed records including Nothing Like The Sun and the massive Ten Summoners Tales, and hit singles such as ‘All For One’, ‘Fields Of Gold’, ‘Englishman In New York’ and ‘Desert Rose’. In 2018, he collaborated with reggae pop star Shaggy on the album 44/876 before revisiting some of his most famous songs on the collection My Songs in 2019.

Over his 40-plus years in music, Sting has sold over 100 million records and amassed an incredible 18 Grammys, seven Ivor Novello Awards, an Emmy, a Golden Globe, four Oscar nominations and one Tony nomination. He’s been renowned for his activism – setting up the Rainforest Fund and working on behalf of Amnesty and Live Aid – and has acted in films including Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Dune and Quadrophenia.

In 2024 Sting launched his STING 3.0 World Tour, including a huge headline show at Lincoln Castle in summer 2025.

  • Super Sting

by Karl on 19/06/2025Westonbirt Arboretum - GloucestershireRating: 5 out of 5

What an awesome show from Sting and his talented band mates. Opened with a rumbustious performance of Message in a bottle, followed by other solo and Police favourites Great audience participation too and we all left on a high Ey oh!

  • Sting on form

by Cris on 19/06/2025Westonbirt Arboretum - GloucestershireRating: 5 out of 5

Sting and band played a great set. Beautiful setting at Westonbirt Arboretum. The evening only spoiled by the chaos in the car park trying to get out. An hour to leave is not acceptable. So called traffic management system was a joke.

  • Excellent except the supporting act!

by Vronkins on 19/06/2025Westonbirt Arboretum - GloucestershireRating: 5 out of 5

Sting was - as usual - absolutely brilliant. For that, 5 stars, no question. A fab mix of his many good tunes. Shame about the support acts, however, one of which was OK ish (Imelda May), but the other truly awful and cringeable (Sophie Grey). We did wonder if she was actually a comedy act and we just didn't get the joke. I know everyone needs a break in showbiz but it was so random and bad that it spoiled a fabulous afternoon in the sunshine! Westonbirt is a great venue when you are there, but a nightmare to get out of. The marshalls were pretty hopeless - glad there wasn't a need to escape quickly. All told a great day out!!

  • Sting himself was good, just don't go to Forest Live

by Helloeveryone on 19/06/2025Westonbirt Arboretum - GloucestershireRating: 3 out of 5

We saw Sting last night at Forest Live, this is at Westonbirt Arboretum. Beautiful place amongst the trees. We left the gig earlier than we wanted to in order to get ahead of the car queues leaving the car park. Got to our car at 10:45pm - and left the grounds at 00:45am. That's 2 hours sat in the car, and i'd say we moved a total of 5 meters in that time. Absolute gridlock. Around 7 lanes queuing to access the main track into the park, and another 10 lanes of cars the other side of this track. Lots of 'road rage' witnessed as all of us feeling frustrated. People who had watched the whole gig got to their cars and then just drove into the queue much further up, where they were parked. Queuing traffic is unavoidable at gigs of course, just that this could have been a much more organised system with the help of traffic wardens. They were no-where to be seen, yet there were tons of them ushering us in on arrival. As for the gig, Sting was really good. Playing some of his lesser-well known songs is not a good idea, i looked around and could see that people weren't enjoying themselves. In future, I would like to see artists coming on stage much earlier than 9pm. There's a lot of waiting around. Most of us will have driven ages to get there, and have a long drive back. Add in the wait to get out of the venue in your car, and we're home by 2am and up for work the next day. So - event organisers, please put artists on earlier so to finish earlier.

  • Great concert, shockingly bad organisation

by Bluban on 19/06/2025Westonbirt Arboretum - GloucestershireRating: 3 out of 5

As always Sting was amazing. Westonbirt, on the other hand, need to learn how to organise a crowd. Entering and exiting the car parks was atrocious, we paid £10 for car parking which nobody bothered checking, the route in was confusing and the route out, in the dark, even more so. They genuinely need to employ people with traffic management skills. First and last time attending a concert here

  • Amazing performance by Sting in this beautiful setting!

by JennyR on 01/07/2024Sherwood Pines - NottinghamRating: 5 out of 5

It was such a memorable performance enhanced by the wonderful weather and beautiful setting of pine trees. Sting and his two band members sounded so good - all very talented but his performance is on a different level to most live performances. You have to see him! It makes me want to see more summer concerts at this venue.

  • Sting live..

    by John H on 27/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

This was the most relaxing fantastic gig I have been too. The venue Thetford forrest high lodge puts a smile on your face straight away .It's like being wrapped in nature. Sting and his duo gave a masterclass in live performance and entertainment proving some voices don't age and a good live human musician can always wow a crowd. Fantastic night

  • Sting was brilliant. Sounded even better than records

    by Rappy42 on 27/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

We had Glade VIP tickets. The organisation was slick and the marshalls happy and engaging. There was loads of seating and a short bar queue, which made the extra cost worth it. This has not always been our experience at other outdoor venues. It was difficult to find any info on support acts and running times. This was commented on by others we spoke to as well. Sting was just brilliant. Just him, a guitarist and drummer. No gimmicks, no flashing lights, no fireworks, no confetti canons, no changing guitars with every song. Just 3 tight professionals producing amazing music.

  • Breathtaking experience!

    by H&P on 26/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

This is an evening to remember. He may be a seasoned professional with nothing to prove but that didn't stop Sting delivering a faultless, relaxed and engaging performance. With his cheeky sense of humour and personality he captivated the audience who reacted by dancing and singing along with all the hits. The arena at Thetford Forest was perfect, helped by warm summer weather and beautiful surroundings. We look forward to the next time!

  • A great show

Wow, had a great time at Sherwood Pines to see Sting. It was an awesome show.

  • Superb

by Shazza on 25/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Amazing , I never thought I would get to see sting live, let along with my dad who is a big fan. And he didn't disappoint. He was superb. The arena was set out well . We sat near the back but had a really good view of the stage and screens . It was just a shame that the car park wasn't better organised. It took us an hour to get out of the car park.

  • Incredible

by Smit on 25/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

The Setting, The Weather and most all The Artist. Playing as a 3 piece simply incredible!

  • A mazing

by Finchy on 25/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

He was just the best, as always. Slightly biased as a life time fan, but her never fails to be awesome. He was much chattier this time, I think he was glad to be outside in a beautiful venue with superb weather. Look out radio 2 park goers because this will be the best performance of the weekend. Trust me 😉

He's just there best live. Slightly biased as I'm a life time fan but he never ever fails to be awesome. He was much chattier this time, I think he just loved being outside on a beautiful evening. Look out Glastonbury because this will be the best performance of the entire festival. Trust me.

  • Sting- truly amazing

by Julia on 25/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic location at Sherwood Park, very well organised. Have to say it was one of the best concerts I have seen. Stings vocals and musicianship was outstanding as too was his band. Fantastic classic and new songs in an amazing setting. Eveyone chilled enjoying their picnics and day. Wonderful experience. He was just in another league. Well informed by Ticketmaster well done and thank you.

  • Totally Exceeded my Expectations

by Harry Headlights on 25/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Booked for my wife her favourite artist as a surprise. Don't get me wrong I rate Sting as well. Travel to venue was easy on a Sunday evening, parking was straight forward. Had never been to Sherwood Pines before, it is a beautiful venue. Initially thought I was under prepared when I saw everyone bringing all sorts with them. Needn't have worried, got to the front in the mosh pit (which was pretty civilised) and waited for the main event. The two support bands were very good particularly Storry. Sting came on at 8.45 to Message in a Bottle which sent a shiver down my spine, the whole evening was absolutely brilliant, one of the best concerts I have ever been to, even the weather turned up. Finally it is a bit of a chore getting out of the car park which took about an hour, no problem as I had mentally prepared for it!

  • Sting in Belfast

by Stevie on 25/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Travelled across from Edinburgh for my first visit to Belfast to see the legend that is Sting at Ormeau Park ably supported by Blondie and a young Aussie sister group Germein. The venue itself was very well organised with plenty of food and drink available and friendly enough staff. The park held about 25,000 and the place was crammed by the time Sting came on just after 9pm. I've seen Sting many times before and he never disappoints and this was yet another well paced selection of his greatest hits which the audience responded to enthusiastically. His new 3.0 band is a throwback to The Police and the show was all the better for it. His voice still holds up remarkably well and he easily looks 15 years younger. All in all a truly memorable day and I'm already looking forward to my next Sting hit in September in Preston. A definite 5 star show.

  • Average

by Gloria on 25/06/2024Rating: 2 out of 5

Really average nothing special. We went for a walk before the concert and this was our highlight. The forest is beautifull. Sting was average ... this tour sounds like a money making machine.... these big boys would need to stop at some point to remain the legend...

  • Fantastic!

    by Helen M on 24/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

The event was very well organised. The VIP area made it very relaxed and not too crowded. Sting was magnificent of course, as were the support bands. The whole day went far too quickly! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves

  • Brilliant

by CMP on 24/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Organisation was very good, just enough choice of food and drink - too much can be overwhelming. Support Acts were good, nice to see new musicians. Sting was brilliant. A Police like band produced an excellent sound and his distinctive voice sounds as good as ever. Very poignant lyrics, he was way ahead of his time. Desert Rose was fantastic and finishing with Fragile was as thought provoking as he intended.
