PinkPantheress announces Brixton Academy residency

"Global icon" (British Vogue) PinkPantheress has revealed her sophomore mixtape, Fancy That, and a residency at London's Brixton Academy to celebrate.

Written and produced by PinkPantheress, Fancy That was created alongside aksel arvid, Count Baldor, phil, Oscar Scheller, The Dare and others, bringing together a collective of creative minds to shape her latest sonic evolution. As she steps into her fun and kitsch-y era, rooted in British culture, the 9-track project showcases her signature vocals and genre-blurring sound. This mixtape marks a new chapter for PinkPantheress as she embraces a new level of intimacy. Fancy That is testament to PinkPantheress’ ear, featuring samples and interpolations from Panic! at the Disco to Jessica Simpson to Basement Jaxx as she seamlessly blends classics and hidden gems with her signature earworm production. The sophomore mixtape will feature previously teased ‘Illegal’ alongside recently released single ‘Tonight’, which offers a glimpse into the unapologetic soundscape she has crafted. Full tracklist below.

Speaking on the project PinkPantheress says: “Announcing this tape marks a huge milestone for me as an artist, this feels like the most tied together project i’ve applied myself to as an artist and for my fans who have been with me for years, I hope they can hear the signs of growth in me as an artist.”

PinkPantheress is a multi-platinum recording artist, songwriter, and producer. On an upward trajectory since 2021, PinkPantheress introspective lyrics, and ability to create infectious beats have garnered her a dedicated fan base. Following her critically acclaimed debut mixtape ‘To hell with it’, and international sleeper hit 'Pain' (1-Billion Streams), 2022 saw the rising star win BBC Music’s Sound of 2022, grace the cover of The Face whilst catching the attention of British Vogue where she was the only musician featured on the prestigious Vogue 25 list.

2023 saw PinkPantheress’ 'Boy's a Liar Pt. 1 & Pt. 2'  take the world by storm, spending an impressive 22 weeks in the Billboard Hot 100 (peaking at No.3), 28 weeks on the UK OCC singles chart (peaking at No.2) and charting No.1 in several Spotify and Apple Music charts and has recently received double platinum status in the US. In November 2023, PinkPantheress released her highly anticipated debut album ‘Heaven knows’ which NME called “the blueprint for the future of British pop” whilst New York Times described the debut as “an effervescent collection of infectious hooks with a sound that crosses Y2K aesthetics with the boldness of contemporary hyperpop.”

Last year, PinkPantheress embarked on her biggest headline tour to date, the Capable of Love tour. Her sold-out show at Alexandra Palace earned glowing reviews, with The Guardian and NME awarding it 4*, while The Forty-Five praised, “The expectations for a show this size are bound to be high, but Pantheress goes above and beyond to make it one to remember.” The acclaim continued across the North American leg, where Exclaim! hailed her as a “low-key superstar”, and Rolling Stone declared: “A star is born.”

Since stepping onto the scene, PinkPantheress has graced the covers of i-D, The Face, and Rolling Stone UK, while also starring in campaigns for Marc Jacobs Heaven, Starface, Bose, and Apple. Most recently, she was honoured in Forbes' 30 Under 30 list and crowned Producer of the Year at the Billboard Women in Music Awards.

With each achievement, PinkPantheress continues to mesmerise and dominate, solidifying her status as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
