Celebrating 50 years of Lynyrd Skynyrd

AEG Presents is thrilled to announce that rock ’n’ roll legends Lynyrd Skynyrd are set to make their triumphant return to the United Kingdom in July of 2025.

The upcoming arena tour marks their first UK visit since 2019, bringing the unmistakable sounds of one of rock’s most iconic acts back to British shores. Joined by special guests Blackberry Smoke, the tour promises to be an unmissable moment for UK rock fans.

'Celebrating 50 Years of Lynyrd Skynyrd' marks half a century since the release of their groundbreaking debut album Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd. Five decades in, Lynyrd Skynyrd continue to captivate audiences worldwide with their electrifying performances and timeless music.

Their first UK outing in over five years, the tour will kick off at Manchester’s AO Arena on 15 July 2025, taking in Birmingham, Brighton and closing at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on 19 July.

Joining as special guests for all four dates are Blackberry Smoke, who have earned a reputation for their dynamic live performances and genre-defying sound, making them the perfect complement to the tour.

Johnny Van Zant, lead vocalist and brother of the late Ronnie Van Zant, expressed his excitement, saying: “It’s about the legacy of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and what it stands for, what the fans are all about. There’s nothing like getting out there, playing a great show with Skynyrd and seeing people love this music.”

Emerging from Jacksonville, Florida, in 1973, Lynyrd Skynyrd has left an indelible mark on the world of rock music. With over 60 albums, billions of streams, and tens of millions of records sold, the band remains a cultural force that transcends generations.

This UK tour promises to be a celebration of Skynyrd’s rich heritage and enduring appeal. Fans can expect an unforgettable evening filled with classic hits, powerful performances, and a shared passion for the music that has defined a lifestyle for millions.

£1 from every ticket sold on the tour will be donated to the newly launched Live Trust, a new funding initiative from LIVE that will offer much needed financial support to those working across live music. The Live Trust will initially support the grassroots music sector that is such a vital part of the music ecosystem – from venues and artists to festivals and promoters.

  • Lynyrd Skynyrd at Wembley 19.7.25

by IKW on 24/07/2025Rating: 3 out of 5

This was a very disappointing experience for me. Blackberry Smoke were excellent as expected and kept to the time allocated. However Lynyrd Skynyrd didn't appear until 9.15 pm and I had to leave before the encore in order to ensure getting a train home. Skynyrd played deafeningly loud, and we could't hear what Johnnie was singing, so the mìxing wasn't good. Also people insisted on standing during the whole performance, which I feel is inappropriate as I would prefer to sit, not being a youngster. The stewarding at the venue and lack of crowd control leaves a lot to be desired. Travelling to the venue was a headache as it clashed with the boxing match at the stadium. In short, I doubt very much if I will attend another event again at this venue. The last concert I went to was in early 2020 and that wasn't a great experience either.

  • Fantastic

From the first note to the last, excellent show. All the hits and a lot of singing along. Simply brilliant and worth the wait to see.

  • A good night out

by Robert on 21/07/2025OVO Arena, Wembley - LondonRating: 5 out of 5

Blackberry Smoke and Lynyrd Skynyrd were both excellent, the sound was good, and our seats had a good view of the stage, although we couldn't have been much further away. On the downside, we were kept outside in the rain for 20 minutes after arriving because of overcrowding in the foyer, the drinks at the bar were alarmingly expensive, and the return journey was difficult because the Stadium emptied out at the same time as the Arena meaning huge crowds trying to get to Wembley Park tube station.

  • Legendary Band Lynyrd Skynyrd

by Skynhead on 21/07/2025The Brighton Centre - BrightonRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely brilliant show from one of my all time favourite bands, standing three people back from the stage, for a great night. Lovely montage of the great man Gary Rossington R.I.P. Couldn't of enjoyed it more. Adding to the evening was the really good support band Blackberry Smoke, who I hadn't seen before.

  • Excellent experience

The sound, the atmosphere and the songs: everything was wonderful!

  • Good as originals

by Graham Hogg on 21/07/2025OVO Arena, Wembley - LondonRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. I saw the original lineup when they supported Rolling Stones at Knebworth, and proved to be better than RS on the actual day. This lineup sound just as good as original band and are brilliant at keeping the legacy going. Good support from Blackberry Smoke too

  • Great bands but experience was disappointing

by LB on 20/07/2025OVO Arena, Wembley - LondonRating: 3 out of 5

The experience was spoilt to some extent because of poor organisation at Wembley Arena. Had to wait ages to go upstairs to our seats very claustrophobic and the ovo app crashed. Both bands were brilliant although sometimes the sound was not well balanced. Will not be returning.

What a line up! what a show! Starting with the fantastic Blackberry Smoke to the Brilliant Skynyrd These guys just know how to put a top notch show on The touching tribute to Gary on Tuesdays gone was class And Ronnie singing the second half of Freebird on the backdrop was a fitting end to a incredible show Thank you

  • Shambolic venue

by Isleworthian on 20/07/2025OVO Arena, Wembley - LondonRating: 2 out of 5

1, . My mate to whom I had transferred a ticket using the digital app couldn't get in as app was down, box office were unhelpful and I had to leave the venue to go outside to sort it. 2. In section S there are no gents toilets between S14 and S3 so the melee to get to the toilets is horrendous . Expect 15 minute queue . 3. Charged £6.50 for a small bottle of zero alcohol beer . 4. No lighting in section S5 so had to exit in the dark . 5. Many people struggling with steepness of steps as no handrails in evidence . 6. No prior information about stage times available despite venue clash with boxing at main stadium. 7. This venue is extremely tired and under invested . OVO should be embarrassed to be associated with it.

  • Southern Rock Legebds

by Samurai Pete on 20/07/2025OVO Arena, Wembley - LondonRating: 5 out of 5

Brilliant night watching two class Southern Rock bands, Blackberry Smoke were brilliant, Lynyrd Skynyrd were out of this world, especially their finish with Freebird.
