Celebrating 50 years of Lynyrd Skynyrd

AEG Presents is thrilled to announce that rock ’n’ roll legends Lynyrd Skynyrd are set to make their triumphant return to the United Kingdom in July of 2025.

The upcoming arena tour marks their first UK visit since 2019, bringing the unmistakable sounds of one of rock’s most iconic acts back to British shores. Joined by special guests Blackberry Smoke, the tour promises to be an unmissable moment for UK rock fans.

'Celebrating 50 Years of Lynyrd Skynyrd' marks half a century since the release of their groundbreaking debut album Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd. Five decades in, Lynyrd Skynyrd continue to captivate audiences worldwide with their electrifying performances and timeless music.

Their first UK outing in over five years, the tour will kick off at Manchester’s AO Arena on 15 July 2025, taking in Birmingham, Brighton and closing at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on 19 July.

Joining as special guests for all four dates are Blackberry Smoke, who have earned a reputation for their dynamic live performances and genre-defying sound, making them the perfect complement to the tour.

Johnny Van Zant, lead vocalist and brother of the late Ronnie Van Zant, expressed his excitement, saying: “It’s about the legacy of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and what it stands for, what the fans are all about. There’s nothing like getting out there, playing a great show with Skynyrd and seeing people love this music.”

Emerging from Jacksonville, Florida, in 1973, Lynyrd Skynyrd has left an indelible mark on the world of rock music. With over 60 albums, billions of streams, and tens of millions of records sold, the band remains a cultural force that transcends generations.

This UK tour promises to be a celebration of Skynyrd’s rich heritage and enduring appeal. Fans can expect an unforgettable evening filled with classic hits, powerful performances, and a shared passion for the music that has defined a lifestyle for millions.

£1 from every ticket sold on the tour will be donated to the newly launched Live Trust, a new funding initiative from LIVE that will offer much needed financial support to those working across live music. The Live Trust will initially support the grassroots music sector that is such a vital part of the music ecosystem – from venues and artists to festivals and promoters.

Brilliant concert liked every minute of it, after 50 years they are still rocking, sadly none of the original band was present, May they rest in peace, and keeping on rocking in heaven

Great night from beginning to end. Blackberry Smoke were brilliant and as you'd expect Lynard Skynard were awesome! Class act!

Meet and greet late getting to welcome point , 30 minutes asking around and back at door we came in to see large queue , timing of Skynyrd photo ment missing 1/2 of blackberry smoke although should have watched them instead of photo shoot running late , still cannot access photo on SmugMug, Not impressed at 1k per ticket 🤷‍♂️ as to what I got wasn't VIP treatment

  • Sweet Home Brighton

by IPL on 19/07/2025The Brighton Centre - BrightonRating: 5 out of 5

This was a full on set of the greatest hits of Lynyrd Skynyrd played at a blistering pace and a very loud volume. The evening was a balance of the current members and acknowledged tributes to those who are no longer here. This is Southern American rock at its finest and played to an audience that was prepared for a good night. From the opening sequence of the Southen swamp land to the ending bright lights with a disco ball this was vocals and musicianship at its best. The ending with Freebird proved it can be played live better than on the record.

  • Over loud

by Louf on 19/07/2025The Brighton Centre - BrightonRating: 4 out of 5

Blackberry Smoke were excellent and loud (and I like loud) but listenable. It seems like the volume was unnecessarily cranked up for Skynard which spoilt the sound quality and our enjoyment of the gig. Skynard were OK, a glorified tribute band playing the stuff well enough. But BlackBerry Smoke were the stars for me.

  • Lynyrd Skynyrd at the Brighton Centre

by Elaine on 19/07/2025The Brighton Centre - BrightonRating: 5 out of 5

We had standing tickets. We stood at the front of the stage to the side. We were able to see the band members going on and off the stage a few feet in front of us. I wasn't sure what to expect, as I hadn't seen them live before. However, Lynyrd Skynyrd exceeded my expectations. Totally fabulous group of musicians and it was good to see the comradery between the band. All through the set they got the audience to participate with singing along, or waving their arms in the air. There was a big screen behind them showing footage of old band members, sadly no longer with us. I would highly recommend seeing this band live if you can. Awesome night.

Fantastic band. They put on a great performance. Love the video presentation. Remembering the passed band member. Good venue. Bar had no bitter was my only gripe

2 bands with brilliant musicians and songs to match . Seen Blackberry Smoke numerous times as headliners . But as support were as committed as when they headline . Skynyrd were Skynyrd, enuff said .

Living legends perform a great gig. The final track Freebird was as good live as it was in recordings, a tear jerker!

  • It's Lynyrd Skynyrd

by Dekker on 17/07/2025Utilita Arena Birmingham - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

Seen Skynyrd many times and they never disappoint . No matter what combination of musicians, the vast array of their material speaks for itself . During Tuesday's Gone with the video tribute to Gary Rossington, I got really emotional for the first time at a concert. The one downside is this will probably be the last time we see them

  • A great night

We both really enjoyed the show. Both bands gave their all and got us rocking in the ailes.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at this concert. The supporting band, Blackberry Smoke, were equally amazing as the main act Lynard Skynard Great atmosphere. The venue is clean and the staff were pleasant and helpful..

We actually walked out of the gig early because of the noise levels so disappointing I have never done this ever before decibels must have been through the roof even the staff said they couldn't hear one another massive disappointment for me and my partner

  • Lynyrd Skynyrd

    by mofo9 on 16/07/2025AO Arena - ManchesterRating: 5 out of 5

The band were absolutely brilliant, support band were very good. like the AO arena, easy to get to, get in and out (no queues like the coop live) not too bad for drinks but as expected very expensive but people pay the prices Tickets for concerts are getting really expensive I sure Ticketmaster could reduce their extra charges

  • Faultless and classy

by BigDave on 16/07/2025AO Arena - ManchesterRating: 5 out of 5

Great band celebrating 50 years.Played all the most famous songs, and some other great classics. Obviously none of the original members left, but with Jonnie Van Zant, being the brother of the original singer, and Ricky Medlocke on guitar, who was with the band back in the 70's, it couldn't be better. They paid tribute to the original band members, and the sound quality was excellent, they're all great musicians, and Van Zant's vocals are faultless. Altogether a very class act, the only down side to the night, was the crowd, who were unusually quiet for Manchester, the band were trying their best to get more crowd involvement which also adds greatly to the atmosphere, but got hardly a reaction until the final few songs. As a footnote, Special Guests Blackberry Smoke were also very good, and showed all of their 25 years experience.
