Brighton-based alternative musician & multidisciplinary creative James Marriott officially launched his independent music career in 2020 with his debut single 'Slow Down'. James Marriott first started uploading acoustic covers and songs to YouTube in 2012 and has since gone on to amass millions of followers who tune in every day for his music, comedy & relatable personality.
After launching his music career, the singer-songwriter went on to release single after single to find his place as a musician. After racking up 20m+ streams, James took the time to perfectly craft his debut ep and first major body of work 'Bitter Tongues'.
‘Bitter Tongues’ is the project that solidifies James Marriott as a multi-faceted artist & creative. Bitter Tongues is James' debut ep by the Brighton-based singer/songwriter. Drawing from artist inspirations like Phoebe Bridgers, The Strokes & The 1975, Bitter Tongues is a genre-inclusive theatrical music piece in which James tackles his own heartbreak, sexuality, love, and his creative identity on social media.
was a bit nervous about attending as i accompanied my 18yr old daughter and her step sister. Being a mum, i was expecting to be the oldest there. Ive seen him on the tv as my daughter is a massive fan and watches all the videos on u tube. I only knew one song, that said, i really enjoyed myself and thought he put on a good show. I would happily go to one of his gigs again! We all had a great night ❤️

Would very easily go and see James Marriott again. I loved it so much. If anyone is ever on the fence about it, jump off it and book those tickets! He's and incredibly talented musician and makes great iced coffee :D

I Took my Autistic daughter and her school friend to see James he was absolutely amazing! Definitely would go again to see him! He is amazing!
James Marriott was amazing and that's coming from a Mam who didn't even Know who the guy was apart from a few YouTube Videos. Took my 14 year old daughter who is a massive fan and she hasn't stopped talking or smiling since yesterday. Would I take her again yes but not to this venue. Doors opened at 1900 but didn't get into the venue till 2030 missing most of the support acts due to queuing. Apart from that people were happy dancing really getting into it great atmosphere amazing for a first concert.
This was one of the best shows I've been to, vibe was amazing and it positively surpassed every expectation. Am now looking for more tickets😅🫣. Absolutely love this man.
That was easily the best gig I've ever been to. James' stage presence just gets better each time and felt completely different to last years show!
Best night of my life. The openers, amazing, James himself, brilliant, the crowd, awesome. No matter where you were in the room, you had a good time!
