About

The multi platinum-selling Canadian rocker

For most people, a No.1 hit like (Everything I Do) I Do It For You would define their entire career. For Canadian rocker Bryan Adams, it’s possibly not even his most popular song.

Pre-worldwide chart domination with the theme song from Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, Adams was already a stadium-packing megastar, no small thanks to a string of radio-friendly hits including Run To You, Heaven and Summer Of ’69.

Adams got his start as a 15-year-old, fronting the Canadian rock band Sweeney Todd. Following his departure from the band, he formed a songwriting partnership with former Prism drummer Jim Vallance, leading to his self-titled debut in early 1980. You Want It You Got It followed a year later and saw Adams begin to make a dent on the charts.

That progress was solidified in some style in 1983 with Cuts Like A Knife, bagging Adams his first top ten hit in the US with Straight From The Heart. A year later, Adams topped the album charts in both Canada and the US with his fourth solo album Reckless, egged on by a string of high charting singles, including the No.1 Heaven and two further top ten hits in Run To You and Summer Of ’69. Reckless also featured It’s Only Love, a duet with Tina Turner that was nominated for a Grammy.

Adams’ purple patch continued with Into The Fire, which again charted highly at home and abroad and yielded another top ten single in Heat Of The Night.

All of this would pale in comparison to the Adams’ flying start to the next decade, particularly (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, the first single taken from his 1991 album Waking Up The Neighbours. Thanks to its prominence in the hit film Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, the single was a resounding success, hitting No.1 across the world and staying atop the UK charts for a record-breaking 16 consecutive weeks.

Adams would find himself back at the top of the charts not long after with yet another theme song from a film: All For One, a collaboration with Sting and Rod Stewart taken from the film The Three Musketeers. Adams’ status as the flavour of the week for movie songs earned him yet another hit single in 1995’s Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman? from Don Juan De Marco.

After a five-year gap between albums, Adams returned with 1996’s 18 Til I Die. While the album didn’t yield any hits on the scale of its predecessor, Adams was back near the top of the charts in 1998 with When You’re Gone, a duet with former Spice Girl Melanie C.

The new millennium found Adams still a reliable draw at home and abroad, scoring three No.1 albums in Canada and two No.2 albums in the UK. Following the covers album, Tracks Of My Tears, and the Jeff Lynne-produced Get Up, Adams released Shine A Light, his 14th studio album, in 2019, followed by So Happy It Hurts in 2022, which topped the UK Independent Album Charts and earned a Grammy nomination for its lead single.

In 2024, Adams announced a new album and a new world tour, bringing Roll With The Punches to UK arenas in May 2025.

  • Fantastic performance but poor merchandise

by Lozz on 31/05/2025Rating: 3 out of 5

Saw Bryan at Manchester on the 9th May. He was fantastic. ‼️⚠️ The merchandise on the other hand ………… I have no words….. 2 t-shirts totalling £70 (one t-shirt was in holes after 2 hours of wear the whole of the hem is in holes)!!!! and a box set of limited edition live at the Royal Albert Hall CD's costing £50. One CD cannot be read in 4 different CD players. And nobody will take ownership. I have been bounced around all over the place. We got the merchandise because the tickets were a Christmas present for our son so the merchandise was a keepsake. However we now realise that they were an expensive mistake . Beware, don't fall into the same trap ‼️⚠️

As ever Bryan delivered on all fronts ..prompt start no messing.. audience participation delivery . Ticket prices as ever very reasonable and a finish time early enough to be able to get to last train without missing encore ...if Bryan can do this why cant other bands ...he clearky thinks about his audience ..my favourite artist to watch seen him at least 12 times now .

  • Excellent

by Debbiebee on 19/05/2025OVO Hydro - GlasgowRating: 4 out of 5

I felt the entry was swift due to the multiple entry points which was a great advantage to myself with my health issues, this allowed for me to find my seat quickly rather than stand for a long time. The performance was brilliant.

  • Bryan Adams - 13 May 2025

by Susie K (big BA fan!) on 15/05/2025OVO Hydro - GlasgowRating: 5 out of 5

We have been to see Bryan Adams so many times we have lost count. He always puts on a great show. This one was awesome! He walked through the crowds greeting fans and there was an option to choose a song. He is a fantastic entertainer, singer, song writer and just a wonderful person. His songs have been lighting up my life since the early 80s. What a voice he has! If there is any way you could pass this feedback to him (or his team), that would be just fantastic! The Ticketmaster experience is smooth, from purchasing tickets to entry at the venue with handy reminders beforehand. I would not purchase tickets from anyone else. Thank you!

  • Wow, no bad for a 65 year old

    by Keith 68 on 14/05/2025OVO Hydro - GlasgowRating: 5 out of 5

Wow, what a performance. Bryan blew the roof off the OVO Hydro. He may be 65, but he had the place rocking. From the first song till the last 2, he done him self, at the back of the hall. I would happily go and see him again tomorrow.
