About

Alan Davies heads back on tour for the first time in a decade

He thinks he’s Marty McFly but he’s older than Doc Brown. He spends more time in the pharmacy than the gym. Subject to relentless eye rolls from his kids. What is he? A late middle-aged stand up on tour for the first time in a decade. Funnier than ever, he says.

Alan Davies is a critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and TV personality.

He is a staple of British television, known for his performance as the eponymous hero of David Renwick’s hugely popular, long-running TV series Jonathan Creek, and as a permanent panelist on QI. His talk show, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, recently reached its seventh season.

He is also one of the UK’s best-loved comedians.

His stand-up show Urban Trauma ran in London’s West End and Life is Pain and Little Victories sold out in venues across the UK. His second memoir, Just Ignore Him was published in 2020 and the third instalment will be published later this year.

  • Alan is such a likeable & funny guy

by Paula on 04/11/2025Cambridge Theatre - LondonRating: 5 out of 5

It had possibly been ten years or more since we saw Alan in live stand-up comedy, & he didn't disappoint. He is very funny & very likeable & had everyone laughing but also told some quite sobering stories about his childhood. 10/10 to you Alan, & thank you.

  • An excellent evening

Alan was very entertaining. Great humour and great fun for most of the show. However some very personal distressing experiences were aired, as I had expected, revealing a different, a little choked but brave side to Alan that is not seen in his expected character. John, the warm up act was also very entertaining.

  • Alan on top form

Been to quite a few comedy gigs in recent years and Alan had us laughing from start to finish. Very enjoyable night and could happily have gone on longer.

A full theatre and lots of laughs made for a great night. The support act was brilliant and Alan was well worth going to see, very funny and natural.

  • An really excellent evening.

Alan Davies was in fine form during a very funny - and at times thought-provoking - performance. We would recommend anyone, particularly in their 50s to 70s, to see him. He proved that he can still do stand up after ten years away

  • A good belly laugh

    by Muvva B on 27/09/2025The Anvil - BasingstokeRating: 4 out of 5

Great laugh out loud evening of certain age related observational humour. Alan Davies was very open, honest and explicit. He was sometimes a little slow in his delivery but we will put this down to age. Overall a great evening

Alan was very funny but I think some bits were a bit too serious and would of liked to of heard stories from QI and his love of Arsenal Support act was hilarious
