One of the UK’s most in-demand satirists, Nottingham-born Matt Forde has become a regular face on TV having appeared over the years on such shows as Have I Got News For You, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, This Week, Mock The Week, Question Time and many others.

In 2013, he launched The Political Party, a monthly live show and podcast that not only contains topical comedy but also an interview with a prominent politician. With Forde being genuinely fascinated about how people develop their political ideas, it has become hugely popular, featuring guests from across the political spectrum while offering an alternative to the divisive nature of modern political debate.

In 2014, Forde appeared at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with 24-Hour Political Party People. The sell-out show received much acclaim and he took it for a week-long run at London's Soho Theatre. The following year, Forde returned to the Fringe with another sell-out show Get the Political Party Started, performed on The Royal Variety Performance and went on a nationwide tour with the It's My Political Party (And I'll Cry If I Want To).

He presented Unspun With Matt Forde, a political comedy show for Dave, for four series from 2016 to 2018.

In 2018, Forde also started hosting the Rock'n'Roll Football radio show with fellow Nottingham Forest fan Matt Dyson. The pair usually muck about while covering the action from Saturday afternoon's football.

In addition, Forde began recording additional interviews of The Political Party in a studio without a live audience so he could widen his breadth of guests to include academics, advisers, diplomats, lobbyists and even comedians. 

With The Political Party podcast regularly making the top 10 of comedy podcast lists, his live show has continued running in the West End at venues including The Other Palace, Garrick Theatre and Vaudeville Theatre since 2019. Counted among the political heavyweights who've appeared are Tony Blair, Nicola Sturgeon, Julia Gillard, Sadiq Khan, Jeffrey Archer, Anthony Scaramucci, Jess Phillips, Sayeeda Warsi, Margaret Beckett, Edwina Currie, Michael Heseltine and Ken Clarke. 

The Sunday Times said that "whatever your politics you will find excellence here", while The Telegraph called it "informed, astute and consistently funny".

In summer 2021, Forde announced The Political Party would begin a fortnightly residency at the Duchess Theatre in the West End from September 2021.
