Alan Davies heads back on tour for the first time in a decade
He thinks he’s Marty McFly but he’s older than Doc Brown. He spends more time in the pharmacy than the gym. Subject to relentless eye rolls from his kids. What is he? A late middle-aged stand up on tour for the first time in a decade. Funnier than ever, he says.
Alan Davies is a critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and TV personality.
He is a staple of British television, known for his performance as the eponymous hero of David Renwick’s hugely popular, long-running TV series Jonathan Creek, and as a permanent panelist on QI. His talk show, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, recently reached its seventh season.
He is also one of the UK’s best-loved comedians.
His stand-up show Urban Trauma ran in London’s West End and Life is Pain and Little Victories sold out in venues across the UK. His second memoir, Just Ignore Him was published in 2020 and the third instalment will be published later this year.

The complete alphabet of Alan – including some entries that are much, much more tenuous than others...

This comment in no way reflects on Alan as its out of his control. But the operators of the Guild Hall in Southampton please turn the heating down. Even Alan made repeated reference to the temperature during his set and invited people to move around to fill empty seats to give peolle a bit more space. It made it a very uncomfortable experience for all. It was a 2 hour sauna, the poor lady sat next to me was really struggling. 5 Starts to Alan. 2 Stars for the Guild Hall Southampton Venue.
Haven't laughed so much in years. Highly recommend
We didnt expect another 'comedian' and rather wish he hadnt been part of the evening. Seats at the venue werent very comfortable. Alan Davies was great.
We enjoyed Alan's show, but the venue seating was cramped and quite uncomfortable. It was also extremely warm in there.
What a fabulous show. Emotional and moving at times. Brave to share a difficult subject. Thoughtful and thought provoking but funny and clever at the same time. Great to see a long missed comedian doing stand up again. Looking forward to many more comedy shows.
Such a funny man with a brilliant show, so glad we booked to see him. Some of the content is heart-wrenching what a brave move of Alan to share his story, it was obvious how much it still affects his daily life but I can only applaud him for raising such a taboo subject, I'm sure the many other victims who share his horrific experience feel less alone. Aside from this I haven't laughed so much in ages, simply brilliant!
A good evening's entertainment that left us confused; not the sort of show we had expected based on Alan's TV career, and so a little unsure how to react - that may have been his intention. Knowing his back story would have helped, but we were ignorant and had not read his book. Would i recommend it - the humour was certainly Alan's usual high standard; the subject matter ????????
A natural racconteur who can keep his audience amused with his hilarious, and sometimes poignant, way of life. A very funny man.
Amazing well worth the wait, it's been a long time since the last
