I went to see UB40 in both Wembley and Antwerp. They were fantastic. The sound, the atmosphere, just fabulous. They played a great mix of both old (80's) and new songs. Both venues were sold out and the crowds all loved it from beginning to end. Matt Doyle is a fabulous singer with a real amazing voice. There was so much to hear and so much to see on stage, you could see the whole band enjoyed themselves.
Went to see ub40 well i thought it was ub40 turns out they are doing a new album cause theyve been out 45 years so now its ub45 ok i guess but was not very happy felt like it was a complete different band bearly knew any of the songs and bearly played any classics was along time for them to come on stage had 2 other bands never heard of i get promoting other bands etc brilliant but to wait that long and to get a band that bearly played any classics was said dont get me wrong new singing of the band was young but was able to sing and sounded great but just bring back ub40 songs thats why i wentwas disappointed to say the least we wasnt the only ones either we meet a few people after ae left which we left early and they said same thing stick to ub40 we love you the way you was
Superb gig! They sung all the hits, not sure what the other reviews are about. New songs were okay from their new album. Matt Doyle is a talent and was a superb addition to the group. Great atmosphere in Belfast and i didnt see anyone leaving early. Superb night
Fantastic gig! So many hits to sing and dance along to. Even enjoyed the few new songs they sang from their new album. Matt Doyle is a fab addition to the group. I seen UB40 earlier in the year with Ally Campbell….that was great too, but I must admit…the Matt Doyle one was slightly better…they sang more hits. Great atmosphere in Liverpool and can't wait for the next tour.
Disappointed. Apart from the name UB40, don't expect anything more. Weak concert without hits and without Ali Campbell. The whole 1.5 hour played songs from the latest album, which are unknown. Kingston town and Red wine played only for the encore. I couldn't stand it and left after 70 minutes, when the stands around us became empty. Lots of other people were also leaving during that, whom we met at the exit doors. They also had bad reviews. Waste of time.
Unfortunately I am very disappointed with this concert. UB40 played only new songs from the latest UB45 album for 1.5 hours, which is very weak. The only two classics known from the 80s were played for a forced encore. I saw many people leaving the stands after 60 minutes of the concert and never came back. Waste of money and time. They let me down very much.
This was a superb performance by UB40 they performed many of their classic tracks and really interacted with the audience. The new material was also excellent and I would recommend any true fan to book now for future gigs
What a show! So slick and you could tell everyone was loving being up there. Matt fits right in and totally smashed it! The crowd went wild with the old songs and the new material is great! Great venue too (Leeds Arena)! Already looking for more tickets! Thanks for a great evening!
UB40 never disappoint, such a hardworking group. Love all the music they played, l am mid 60's, so enjoy the older stuff. I knew Jimmy Brown's Mum and Sister just before the mid seventies before UB40 and have been a fan ever since they started selling records. Perfect showmen, love their style. Great evening. Venue easy to get to from Resort's World
