About

The chart-topping Las Vegas rockers announce 2024 UK dates

The Killers' 2004 debut Hot Fuss immediately propelled the Las Vegas synth-infused indie rockers into the mainstream. Celebrating multiple platinum status across much of the globe and hitting the No.1 spot on the UK album chart, the record spawned a quartet of huge singles, not least the timeless 'Mr Brightside'. For years following the release, the track would continue to dominate streaming and downloading platforms, and quickly established itself as a staple on dance-floors around the world.

Hot Fuss arrived just two years after The Killers' formation, when vocalist Brandon Flowers responded to an advert penned by guitarist David Kuening. The first track they wrote together was 'Mr Brightside'. Soon after bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci joined – and Flowers' former group Blush Response disbanded – the band began playing local Las Vegas venues.

Among its many accolades, their debut album secured The Killers five Grammy nominations. The record's four singles – 'Somebody Told Me', 'Smile Like You Mean It', 'All These Things That I've Done' and 'Mr Brightside' – became global smash hits, and after touring the record across the world, The Killers quickly began work on their follow-up. Setting up shop in Las Vegas' brand new Studio At The Palms with prolific producers Flood and Alan Moulder, the group began to inject Americana influences into their sound for 2006's Sam's Town.

Citing Bruce Springsteen as a major influence, Flowers and his bandmates secured another two Grammy nominations before dropping Sawdust - a relatively early B-side and rarity collection. It laid the path for 2008's Day & Age, a record that mixed more overt pop influences with the Americana of Sam's Town and the glitz of Hot Fuss. Lead single 'Human' immediately showcased this new refined sound, crafted with the help of Madonna and Gwen Stefani producer Stuart Price.

Following Day & Age, the band took a break to focus on individual projects. It would be three years until they teamed up again, reuniting with Price and a veritable who's-who of top producers for 2012's Battle Born. The album became the band's fourth consecutive UK No.1 record, led by the single 'Runaways'. A greatest hits compilation followed a year later, including new tracks 'Shot At Night' and 'Just Another Girl'.

Thirteen years after the release of their Hot Fuss debut, The Killers would hit the No.1 spot on the US chart for the first time with 2017's Wonderful Wonderful. The record also continued their feat of topping the UK chart with each release. Following the album, founding members Stoermer and Keuning took a step back, with Flowers and Vannucci teaming up with touring musicians for the subsequent global run.

By their sixth album, 2020's Imploding The Mirage, The Killers had become a loose duo. After initially scrapping six months worth of material, the pair enlisted a plethora of special guests, including k.d. lang, Foxygen's Jonathan Rado, War On Drugs' Adam Granduciel, Natalie Mering of Weyes Blood and Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham.

In early March 2021, The Killers announced the UK dates of their huge Imploding The Mirage Tour were being rescheduled to summer 2022, with an extra show added at Falkirk Stadium.

Almost exactly a year after releasing Imploding The Mirage, they unveiled their seventh album, Pressure Machine, in August 2021 featuring the collaborative track 'Runaway Horses' with Phoebe Bridgers.

In December 2023, ahead of the release of new compilation album Rebel Diamonds, The Killers announced shows for summer 2024 in Dublin, Manchester, Glasgow and London.

by Meltre on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Wow from the minute Travis came on to the moment the Killers left the stage the show was jumping. Travis as a support act where a feel treat and then it was the Killers. Well Brandon flowers just didn't stop. The whole concert was full of high energy with each do g proformed to the highest level. The stage setting and graphics blow my mind away. If you haven't seen the band yet you are missing out on an amazing night of entertainment

  • Awesome

    by Stevie C on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

An absolute brilliant awesome gig. Wasn't sure about Travis before but a convert now. As for The Killers, words can't express just how magnificent they were. Expectations exceeded - where can we see them again and of you haven't seen them, book now 😊

  • Epic performance shame about the venue

by DW on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

The Killers absolutely knocked it out of the park! Faultless performance; absolutely epic! Cannot rate them highly enough. CoOp Live as a venue leaves a lot to be desired though. They are advertising free metro travel with gig tickets but the metro station at the venue is currently closed for maintenance, which makes this feel like a bit of false advertising. So we had to get an uber for last half of the journey and then we still had a 10minute walk from where it dropped us off. Ridiculous queues for drinks. Certain bars were staffed but we were told they were not serving?! Despite the obvious demand! And the staff being there. At the end everyone was funnelled out of the one narrow exit which was extremely unpleasant and time consuming. Not sure if other exits are available but were closed like the bars or if this is just down to poor design. Overall, disappointing in comparison to other similar venues.

  • Amazing

  • Coop stadium 1st visit

by Chris on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Show was incredible, staging , lights and sounds top class . Venues limited food choices and super high prices not great . Also car parks were easy to enter but be prepared for them not to let any cars leave until pedestrians have all gone .

  • The Killers - the phenomenon Rebel Diamonds

    by Penny D on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

The arena is a great space, the concert had such a good festival feel along with the all the spectacular of a gig. Travis were an unexpected delight and were obviously enjoying the sheer number of people there. They were such a good band that we may see them on their own. The Killers however were pure professionals and they just delivered hit after hit. The cover of Erasure was surely testament to an era of pure pop. This was just such an experience as I have never been to such a big concert before and will stay in my head forever. Killers you killed it.

  • Exquisite

by Granny on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

This was the best I have ever seen The Killers and I didn't think they could get any better. I don't know where Brandon Flowers keeps all the energy and huge voice in so slender a body. Great support by Travis. After Queen my all time favourite band followed by Imagine Dragons. The return of Dave Keuning especially brilliant. Excellent, entertaining and enthralling band. Venue was excellent though prices high for refreshments. Management of transport and fan transfers excellent. Great 50th Wedding Anniversary present for my husband. Plenty of Brownie points gained here!

  • Killers @ The Co-Op

by Andy on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Excellent service and concert all round. Had developed a walking injury since buying standing tickets and staff made it easy to get in without extended walking periods and guided us to an area to view the concert. compassion and flexibility by all staff involved. Treated very well. Killers themselves did not disappoint. On form as always with a varied setlist from the back catalogue. Energy levels were high throughout, very enjoyable evening

  • Storming set but venue needs work

by LucyA on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

As ever the killers killed it. Third time of seeing them live & they always deliver. Brandon is the Las Vegas showman, backed by the skills of Dave, Ronnie, Mark et al. Tremendous sound, tight professionalism & a crowd energy to raise the roof at the Manchester Coop. Support band Travis excelled, forgot how good they were & it was nice to be reminded. One slightly sour note concerns the venue - websites mention water fountains to refill at, but at the end of the concert, in desperate need of hydration, all the concessions were closed & staff told us the water refill stations haven't been plumbed in. We also noted some frankly scary jury rigged lighting with trailing wires on the stairwells exiting. Work still to be done. Also 23,000 people would have appreciated some public transport beyond a couple of tram carriages.

by Fazz on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Great gig. Travis as support were brilliant. Saw them at Glastonbury 25 years ago and still sound wonderful. Enjoyed their new stuff too. Killers set was awesome. Great sound, great interaction and a ton of energy. Shame the onside parking is dreadful. Totally disorganised and took 75 minutes to leave via one exit!

by Big Phil on 22/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5
