About

The chart-topping Las Vegas rockers announce 2024 UK dates

The Killers' 2004 debut Hot Fuss immediately propelled the Las Vegas synth-infused indie rockers into the mainstream. Celebrating multiple platinum status across much of the globe and hitting the No.1 spot on the UK album chart, the record spawned a quartet of huge singles, not least the timeless 'Mr Brightside'. For years following the release, the track would continue to dominate streaming and downloading platforms, and quickly established itself as a staple on dance-floors around the world.

Hot Fuss arrived just two years after The Killers' formation, when vocalist Brandon Flowers responded to an advert penned by guitarist David Kuening. The first track they wrote together was 'Mr Brightside'. Soon after bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci joined – and Flowers' former group Blush Response disbanded – the band began playing local Las Vegas venues.

Among its many accolades, their debut album secured The Killers five Grammy nominations. The record's four singles – 'Somebody Told Me', 'Smile Like You Mean It', 'All These Things That I've Done' and 'Mr Brightside' – became global smash hits, and after touring the record across the world, The Killers quickly began work on their follow-up. Setting up shop in Las Vegas' brand new Studio At The Palms with prolific producers Flood and Alan Moulder, the group began to inject Americana influences into their sound for 2006's Sam's Town.

Citing Bruce Springsteen as a major influence, Flowers and his bandmates secured another two Grammy nominations before dropping Sawdust - a relatively early B-side and rarity collection. It laid the path for 2008's Day & Age, a record that mixed more overt pop influences with the Americana of Sam's Town and the glitz of Hot Fuss. Lead single 'Human' immediately showcased this new refined sound, crafted with the help of Madonna and Gwen Stefani producer Stuart Price.

Following Day & Age, the band took a break to focus on individual projects. It would be three years until they teamed up again, reuniting with Price and a veritable who's-who of top producers for 2012's Battle Born. The album became the band's fourth consecutive UK No.1 record, led by the single 'Runaways'. A greatest hits compilation followed a year later, including new tracks 'Shot At Night' and 'Just Another Girl'.

Thirteen years after the release of their Hot Fuss debut, The Killers would hit the No.1 spot on the US chart for the first time with 2017's Wonderful Wonderful. The record also continued their feat of topping the UK chart with each release. Following the album, founding members Stoermer and Keuning took a step back, with Flowers and Vannucci teaming up with touring musicians for the subsequent global run.

By their sixth album, 2020's Imploding The Mirage, The Killers had become a loose duo. After initially scrapping six months worth of material, the pair enlisted a plethora of special guests, including k.d. lang, Foxygen's Jonathan Rado, War On Drugs' Adam Granduciel, Natalie Mering of Weyes Blood and Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham.

In early March 2021, The Killers announced the UK dates of their huge Imploding The Mirage Tour were being rescheduled to summer 2022, with an extra show added at Falkirk Stadium.

Almost exactly a year after releasing Imploding The Mirage, they unveiled their seventh album, Pressure Machine, in August 2021 featuring the collaborative track 'Runaway Horses' with Phoebe Bridgers.

In December 2023, ahead of the release of new compilation album Rebel Diamonds, The Killers announced shows for summer 2024 in Dublin, Manchester, Glasgow and London.

My son and I travelled over 8 hours from Scotland just to see Travis and The Killers play the new Co-op Live arena. Upon entering the floor of the arena you get the full scale of the place. The sound was amazing. Travis did a fantastic job warming up for Brandon and the lads. The Killers performance was electric from the start. They were tight and put on such an energetic show. Got goosebumps ❤️

Great venue @CO OP arena and an excellent gig by Travis and the Killers would highly recommend

  • Awful

by Grogu on 24/06/2024Rating: 1 out of 5

Where to start saw at Manchester with state of the Art sound system unfortunately this was not used to full effect. The sound was so off the drummers sound not line wit the rest of the band You could feel the reverberation in your bottom and not in a good way I have seen 6 shows at the new arena and been blown away not on this occasion. Travis who supported were absolutely outstanding and rocked the place so can only draw one conclusion if Travis sound was good why wasent the killers. I may be in a minority however could not hear for an hour after show that's not the sign of noise level being right in my opinion.

A 5* show as always and for me the best pound for pound group on this god given earth. They smashed it like they always do. If you have not seen them you must......you are missing out. It is indeed indie rock and roll for me.

  • The Killers at the new coop live Ethiad

by Bex on 24/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

The Killers at the new coop live Ethiad was brilliant. The venue is perfect, easy to get to and from, inside, not to big or small, can get right to the front if standing. Was quick to get crowd in. The killers were amazing, wasn't late on stage, non stop music played. One of the best artist for a performance ever seen! Worth every penny!!!

  • Brilliant night!

    by PKH7 on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely brilliant, we had the best time! Danced the whole way through the full show and came away throughly satisfied that we'd got to see The Killers after wanting to for such a long time!

  • Killers at Co-op live

by Cooper on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

The Killers showed just how great live music is. A fantastic band at an amazing venue.

  • Excellent music arena

by Sam Dav on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

This arena was fantastic, with ideally placed seating with a good view of the stage. Considering it was very full, the air temperature was good, not too hot and stuffy. Plenty of toilets, bars, places to get soft drinks which meant the queues were small. Probably the best music arena I've ever been to.

  • Brilliant show but..

by Kelly on 23/06/2024Rating: 4 out of 5

Killers actual performance was brilliant but the seats didn't allow sight of whole of stage. Lighting effects and stage screens were recessed and view blocked by speakers hanging from rigging. CO OP Live made a good effort and making positive moves to make it happen getting there / in however getting out and away from venue still needs work. Transport away from venue poor. Ended up walking back to city. Wouldn't like to think of younger females making the same journey. Needs addressing and more timely transport available. Great to have tram ticket included in ticket price however you have to walk to Piccadilly station to get those trams.

  • Fantastic

by Helen on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Well organised event at the new Coop area. Staff professional and engaged. Show was Fantastic ! Travis as support really on form and an excellent warm up. Killers were everything you'd expect them to be. Banging out tubes one after the other. The energy was tangible. Real crowd pleasers.

  • Superb Performance, Impressive Venue

by JC on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

First time to Co-op Manchester. Not the first Killers gig! They rocked the joint! Travis, before The Killers, were also joyous and brilliant. The light show impressed, the sound quality for the main singers excellent (It was hard to pick out the words of the backing singer when duetting on one track, as distorted.) Overall, superb and enthralled as well as engaged and involved the audience. We were on the top level but nearer the stage, so not too bad for a view. Had we been towards the back, away from the stage, then I may have been disappointed by the view. Brandon Flowers was on top form. A showman as well as an excellent performer and the other guys/gals singing or playing instruments were fantastic. If you get chance to see The Killers or Travis, then do! You leave uplifted. The venue…refreshing approach with many aspects designed for the audience…plenty of helpful staff, many places to get a drink or food (costs are high, can of water £3.20 etc.), several merchandise stalls (so not one ridiculously long queue), loads of toilets on every level, wide corridors. It did take a while to exit from the top floor (middle to back sections seem to converge at one exit. Rows 301-303 had a quicker route out if able to use the stairs.) - if you had mobility issues and had to wait for the lift, think you'd be waiting a while and getting out of the car park looked a time waster! Fortunately we parked a short distance away and the traffic was ok after. Friends who were standing said they got out pretty quickly. Compared to getting out at a gig at the cricket ground the weekend before, exiting was much better). Although there is low lighting to show row numbers, if you arrived when the lights were down, it wasn't easy to see seat numbers, so there were a few phone lights in the eyes as people took their places. Perhaps seat numbers on the stairs would help. On the whole, the venue worked really well!

  • The Killers is the best gig ever

by Hullmozza on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Getting to the Coop Live arena was very easy, as was getting to our seats. No stress, queues for the bar were typically busy but not horrendous. The gig was fantastic! Kicked off with Mr. Brightside which threw everyone, then smashed it all the way through to the end. Travis were the perfect support band. If you have a chance to see The Killers live do it, cannot recommend seeing them live enough!

  • Best concert ever

by And on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Venue was easy to get to, great parking and extremely helpful staff. Lots of toilets which were clean also helped with our experience. We had pizza from one of the outlets which was great. Seats were good and we could really interact with the concert. Travis were good with excellent sound quality and the Killers were exceptional.

  • The Killers killed it!

by Scully on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

The Killers were amazing and put on an amazing show. The Co-Op Live was disappointing though. Closed one of the bars during the gig and others ran out of beer glasses. The performance area was very good.

  • The Killers

by KevC on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Went to see The Killers at The Coop Live Arena. 1st time there and after the teething issues they had I was sceptical. Well! I was pleasantly surprised, facilities were brilliant, arena was great and of course The Killers were amazing (& Travis) I would definitely recommend this venue.

  • Killers at Co-Op

    by Steve J on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

After All the bad publicity regarding the arena, I can honestly say that everything was very well organised. Plenty of friendly stewards to help with every need we had,the arena once inside was well planned out and easy to find what door we needed to find our seats. The seating within the arena was perfect from every vantage point (although a little snug within the seat itself) the acoustics were perfect and back in the hallways of the arena there were plenty of bars(usual arena prices)and food (hot dogs, sandwiches) from co-op shops. So all in all I would give it a 10.

  • Most amazing night!

by Sally on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

I went with my son to see The Killers in the Co-op Live arena last night. We both agreed it was our best night ever! We had VIP standing tickets and they were worth every penny. Everything was seamless from booking the tickets and info leading up to the concert. The VIP service meant we were right at the front…the Co-op Live venue was fantastic- all teething problems long gone. And as for The Killers…words can't sum it up. They fulfilled all our expectations and much, much more! ❤️

  • Fantastic Evening

    by Jog T on 23/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Fabulous arena. Great friendly and helpful staff. Travis were excellent as a warm up. First time I haven't wanted the support act to end. The Killers were amazing. Wonderful set with spectacular effects. Easy to exit after the event. Really good organisation and stewarding.
