About

Record-breaking comedian Matt Rife is bringing his highly successful Stay Golden World Tour, to the UK in 2026.

His Stay Golden era builds on the success of his ProbleMATTic World Tour, where Rife sold over 600,000 tickets across 250+ shows in under 48 hours following its 2023 announcement. That global run included stops across North America, Europe, the UK, and Australia, solidifying his status as one of comedy’s biggest breakout stars.

Comedian/Actor/Producer/Writer/and NY Times Best Selling Author Matt Rife has cemented himself as one of the biggest stand ups in the world through his chart-topping Netflix specials and his remarkable engagement on social media where he has amassed over 44.6 million followers, and more than 3 billion views globally.

Last December, Rife released his first book, Your Mom’s Gonna Love Me, a memoir from Simon & Schuster which instantly became a New York Times bestseller. In his book, Rife reveals (without apology, of course) what led him to becoming comedy’s biggest lightning rod before he reached thirty, in a story full of bold and hysterical takes on everything from rap battles with ex-cons to Matt’s struggles with depression and his many brushes with failure before finally hitting it big.

On his ProbleMATTic World Tour, Rife sold out 4 shows at The Dolby Theater in Hollywood, where the Academy Awards are held. In December 2023, Rife set a record at the Mohegan Sun Arena with five nights of consecutive sold out performances and he became the youngest stand-up comedian to sell out the Hollywood Bowl with over 17,000 tickets sold. This tour sold over 600,000 tickets in under 48 hours, becoming one of the largest comedy tours in over 20 years.

After the success of his tour, Rife signed on for a second world tour with Live Nation & a feature film, Rolling Loud, an R-rated comedy co-starring Owen Wilson and co-produced by Live Nation Productions and American High.

As a result of his success, Rife earned placement on the Forbes list for Forbes 30 under 30 in 2023 and top creators lists in 2024 and 2025.

Originally from a small town near Columbus, Ohio, Matt started performing at the age of fifteen then moved out to Los Angeles two years later where he began his career in Hollywood.

In 2021, Rife self-produced and distributed through YouTube his first one-hour comedy special, Only Fans. In April 2023, the comedian bet on himself again and self-released his second stand-up special, Matthew Steven Rife on YouTube. The special was taped in Austin, TX and is dedicated to his biggest role model, his grandfather Steven who had recently passed. Only a couple months later, Rife decided to release a crowd work special, Walking Red Flag on YouTube, which has amassed over 17 million views.

On November 15th, 2023, the comedian released his highly anticipated third stand-up special, Matt Rife: Natural Selection on Netflix, which garnered outstanding numbers including over 10.3 million views in its first two weeks and earned a Top 10 ranking in 42 countries including #1 in US, Canada, and South Africa. Natural Selection was the most viewed special on Netflix for the second half of 2023.  From the overwhelming success of his first Netflix special, Rife inked a two-special deal along with a development deal for a series that he will write and star in. The deal with Rife included Netflix’s first ever crowd work special, Lucid, which debuted on August 13th, 2024 and again cemented him in the top 10 most watched shows in 37 countries on the streamer for two weeks.

In addition to stand-up, he made his television debut on MTV’s Wild 'N Out as the youngest cast member in history for four seasons before moving on to other MTV properties, such as hosting the reboot of TRL and appearing on The Challenge. Other credits include Fresh Off The Boat, NBC’s comedy competition show Bring The Funny, Netflix’s That 90’s Show, and can be seen in the final season of Netflix’s comedy series Mo, opposite Mo Amer.

Most recently, it was announced that Rife is set to co-star Julia Garner in Netflix’s new series, The Altruists, based on the collapse of cryptocurrency exchange FTX.

He will also star in The Escort, a comedy film from Wedding Crashers’ Director David Dobkin.

It was also recently announced that Rife will be starring, co-writing and producing The Chasm, a feature mockumentary comedy with Skydance Sports which follows an overconfident climber who chooses to proceed solo on a historic and potentially fatal rock climb.

The show itself was incredible!!! Matt was very funny and fantastic with the crowd. Both supporting Comedians where fabulous aswell. The venue itself was very dirty and your squashed in like sardines. Will definitely book to see Matt again just at a different venue

  • Matt Rife - O2 Apollo Manchester

by Tot on 15/09/2024O2 Apollo Manchester - ManchesterRating: 3 out of 5

The venue itself was like a prisoners visiting area. The floor was sticky, and all we could hear was sticky footsteps, walking up and down the aisles. The staff were worse, as they were constantly walking down the aisles, turning around, then walking back up. This was through the entire show. It was relentless... The only thing missing was the rifles on their backs, to keep everyone in check. Parts of the show couldn't be heard properly due to the noise of walking on the sticky floor... If the prison guards hadn't have been on duty then I think we could have enjoyed the banter with the audience and comedian a bit more but unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. It felt very security overload. To have someone walk past you 137 times throughout a performance is very distracting (and yes I did count, as it was that bad). For a comedy show, there was a few laughs. And some good banter between the comedian and audience. A bit disappointed if I'm honest but that's more due to the staff and venue than Matt Rife himself. Next time I will stick to watching him online rather than go back to that venue.

  • Underwhelmed mostly

by Mags on 15/09/2024O2 Apollo Manchester - ManchesterRating: 3 out of 5

Followed MR for about 4 years and have always watched his online clips and thought they were hilarious. I then watched all of his full features on Netflix, YouTube etc. and I felt like they fell short. Seeing him live was the same experience. In parts, really funny, but there were too many gaps. I felt like I was listening more than laughing. Which was in stark contract to the support acts who had us belly laughing. Comedy is so hard and I think MR could be brilliant, but I also think he has been catapulted via the social media surge and needs to find his rhythm when performing to larger crowds. And it is BEYOND gutting that I am writing this, because I was championing it being hilarious based on the reviews I've followed for his UK dates. I'm glad I've seen him, it was ok/fine, just wasn't as funny as I was expecting. MR has to commended on his compassion and generosity of his treatment of Angie. Truly a stand out moment from the show which shone a bit of light on his attitudes and persona. Heartwarming gesture. I'm glad I went. I would love to check back in a few years and see how his stand up has progressed. What I would add is there is definitely a demographic of young women who are there, in our visit, often inebriated, who at times were making so much noise talking, giggling, heckling, phones out etc definitely marred the experience. Staff at Manchester Apollo were fantastic and very accommodating.

  • Must see guy !!!!

by Khally on 12/09/2024O2 City Hall Newcastle - Newcastle Upon TyneRating: 5 out of 5

Omg was so looking forward to see Matt Rife and he did not disappoint. His support act Alex and Jackson was sooo funny too 10/10 My only criticism and it more on the venue. I understand there monitoring people not recoding anything on the phone and I fully respect that. But instead of alternating staff walking up and down all isle every min. Just get them to have a post. New's late 02 Hall is not that big and there was enough staff to just have a post. It was really distracting from the actual show. But the show itself was amazing!

  • Matt wins over his adoring army

by JohnboyJ61 on 12/09/2024O2 City Hall Newcastle - Newcastle Upon TyneRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic 3 hrs of insults, observation and chat with the audience, from Matt and his superb supporting cast of comedians from across the pond. I loved how he responded so quickly to crowd comments and his take on sign language was funny beyond words.

  • O2 city hall

by Danielle on 12/09/2024O2 City Hall Newcastle - Newcastle Upon TyneRating: 4 out of 5

Matt is a very funny guy, i saw him in Birmingham last year, however i did hear a couple of the same jokes , like his mum n the house. City hall seats were far to close together, with people sat in front of you, you had to have your knees up to your chest. No room.

  • Matt Rife 10/10

by Lea on 08/09/2024Utilita Arena Cardiff - CardiffRating: 5 out of 5

Our experience was outstanding from start to finish. We had the food in the restaurant upstairs which was delicious. We then went downstairs, grabbed a couple of t-shirts from the merch stand and seated really quickly. Matt was as amazing as he is in his videos and it was unreal to see him live, I just loved his humour and interactions with the crowd. His support acts were super good too, good energy all round
