Former Wet Wet Wet frontman turned hugely successful solo artist and stage performer
Born Mark McLachlan in Clydebank in 1965, Marti Pellow formed Wet Wet Wet(Opens in new tab) when he was only 17. The band went on to score huge hits in the UK and further afield with Wishing I Was Lucky, Goodnight Girl, A Little Help From My Friends, Sweet Little Mystery and more. However, it was their cover of The Troggs Love Is All Around, taken from the soundtrack to Four Weddings And A Funeral, that would etch their names into the record books, staying at No.1 for 15 weeks and selling almost two million copies.
In 1999, Pellow quit Wet Wet Wet and struck up a friendship with Chris Difford of Squeeze(Opens in new tab). The two began writing together, resulting in Pellow's solo debut, Smile, in 2001. The album went Gold in the UK. Pellow followed it up by re-recording material from both his Wet Wet Wet days and his solo album for Marti Pellow Sings The Hits Of Wet Wet Wet & Smile in 2002.
Following a third solo album, the 2003 covers record Between The Covers, Pellow ventured into acting with a role as Billy Flynn in Chicago. He then rejoined Wet Wet Wet for their reunion in 2004, staying with the band until 2017. In the meantime, he continued his concurrent careers as both a solo artist and stage performer, venturing into jazz for Sentimental Me in 2007 and appearing in productions of Jekyll & Hyde, Chess, Evita and Blood Brothers.
For his 2017 solo album Mysterious, Pellow fulfilled a lifelong dream of working with some of the world's finest musicians at the revered Ocean Way studios in Los Angeles.
Once the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the live music industry, the perpetually touring Pellow turned to the internet to connect with fans, live-streaming performances of both covers and hits from his back catalogue.
In 2021, Pellow released his 11th solo studio album, Stargazer. The album was preceded by the single These Are The Days.
In 2024, Marti Pellow announced an eight-date UK arena tour for 2025 to mark 30 years since the release of 'Love Is All Around'.

Three decades after taking the charts by storm, Wet Wet Wet's Graeme Clarke looks back on the cover version that changed his life

Thoroughly enjoyed the energy and participation of the crowd in this concert. Marty had a terrific band behind him masking the frailty of his notes - as like all older singers- but who cared the concert was magnificent and he endeared the crowd. Only downfall was seating - for some of the larger guests it was pretty cramped
The concert was amazing. Marti did not disappoint. A great showman. The variety of songs brought so many memories back to me. Enjoyed every minute. Well done to you all.
The venue at Edinburgh Castle was superb, Marti was on stage for 2 hours. A mixture of his own music plus a few covers were performed brilliantly. I would definitely recommend going to see him.
Marti was amazing as usual, however the venue and some of the audience ruined the night. The bar shouldn't be open during the main act, so many of the audience were far too drunk, causing problems and ruining the night for other people. The security was awful on the night had no control over the event
I have seen Marti many many times. He just keeps getting better and better as time goes by. I think live performances suit him better, really brings out his voice, enthusiasm and charm. You always feel like you're totally part of his party, and I always go home hoarse! Each time I go to a gig with him, I often wonder 'is this the last one? Will he still have that voice?' And I haven't been proven right so far. Keep doing what you love Marti all the time you can, as we fans, will still come and singalong!👍🏽🥰🌺
Bought accessible seating as I'm in a wheelchair but I could not get near the gate. My wife had to push me up a huge hill which is not acceptable. Rock steady security were so rude need a course on how to deal with the public correctly. Very disappointed with that aspect of the night but the show was great
Marti was on top form as usual fantastic night of singing and dancing
Marti was absolutely amazing, such a great performer with a twinkle in his eyes .
Great show. Venue great. Clean and easy access. Staff helpful
I paid for a seat that on arrival I found to have a pillar affecting my view and as Marti encouraged everyone to stand (which I can't do) resulted in the jolly green giant and his wife who were in front of me cutting off any other view that was left.
Marti was excellent as always, thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Lovely venue and Marti was excellent, he spoke and had a great mixture of songs. The venue had a lovely bar and was a nice size. Marti had his smile and kept the audience in good spirits
