About John Cooper Clarke

Punk poet and spoken-word performer John Cooper Clarke has announced a new UK tour – Luckiest Man Alive. He’ll be joined by comedian Simon Day and Yorkshire poet Geoffrey Allerton.

John began performing in Manchester folk clubs, during the late 1970s. He released his debut EP, Innocents in 1977, with the popular track Gimmix! (Play Loud).

John released four records in the ’70s and ’80s – Où Est La Maison de Fromage?’ and Disguise in Love in 1978, along with Snap, Crackle & Bop in 1980 and Zip Style Method in 1982. John last toured in 2016 to support his book Anthologia.
