Great organisation, great groups, good food selection, a brilliant day
I had a really good experience yesterday on colchester castle and UB40 concert was brilliant 👏 👌
Show was great but I felt there was too much time in between the acts without anything going on. It would have been great to have a DJ or just some recorded music. It fell flat in between each set.
VIP area was opposite end of stage and only 3 food stools a bar and no coffee or tea available Advertised soft furnishing as well as picnic tables and gardens no soft furnishing The vip stand for stage was set at the side and was not very big so was over crowded and you couldn't see well due to being set far back from the stage VIP fast track lol well vip looking at empty grounds soon filled with standard tickets why vip fast track was waiting due to scanning of vip ticket errors on a whole vip was not worth it very disappointed like many others Ub40 was amazing as expected
Such a good night and such good performances being Wes Nelson, Craig David and big narstie
My son & my first local concert . Really well organised and run. Excellent atmosphere , brilliant support acts , and a brilliant set by Craig David . Would definetly go again !
Good event, with a good line up, and very well marshelled in/out. The VIP area at the back was nice, but not very VIP in my opinion, good set up, but poor view and sound. Lots of usual expensive food bars. Top tip, no matter how sunny the day, take a jacket, thank me later.
The access arrangements were an absolute disgrace. The access entrance was changed. None of the staff or security understood the access requirements but security went above and beyond to help! We walked to all three entrances to get the access wristbands bands. By then with all the hassle and stress my autistic daughter was done!
Excellent day at Craig David & guests. Was well organised. Only issue was the toilets, we was vip, and was crazy how much everyone had to queue, seemed to be more mens toilets, so desperate women were using them, plus quite a few were closed. Definitely needs organising better. Expect to pay a lot for drinks and food. Had a great time though.
Purchased car park ticket when I bought my ticket... £16 1) Google maps address given ON Ticketmaster gave wrong car park postcode. May want to check this in future. 2) A What3Words email was sent at 15.11 on day of event... Not helpful as we were already there & gates opened at 4!! 3) Found out from friends that if we had gone to a normal car park it was only £10 for the day...maybe review your prices or next time I visit I'll just go there & it was probably easier to get out 4) As usual all drivers left to make there own decisions how to get out of a field area, a lot of larger cars going 'cross country' to push through to exit. Just as well we had a fab time at concert
I've been VIP before here when Tom Jones last visited, as well as other venues as I like to get the best view I can. VIP then came with a free drink and good standing right at the front! Last night, the VIP area was nice beforehand, but the standing area for the concert was over to the left, further back from the stage! My view was looking at general ticket holders in front of me and more central to the stage, so better views. In the end, quite a few VIP ticket holders went into the main bit, so really no point of paying extra for VIP, other than nicer toilets! Although the concert was good, the VIP part was very disappointing, and what makes it worse is that I've bought VIP for Texas and James later in the week!
We purchased a parking ticket which made it easy on arrival. A short walk to the venue, through security and into the park quickly and efficiently. Didn't go early as not interested in DJ stuff. Loved Scouting for girls - great energy and entertainment. Busted killed it, as good as they ever were so we were really happy with the music. Plenty of free water bottle refills readily available, ok loos, varied food and drinks suitable for our party which included vegetarian and vegan eaters. A lovely atmosphere, no unsociable behaviour or 'smoke'. Would be 5 stars but for a slight shortage of bins, we were unavoidably treading on other peoples discarded cans (and other consumables waste) on the way out. Also- If only there was a way to have 2 exits from the car park- it took ages to get out. Hope to go next year!
Great night out. Fantastic location, Smashing Pumpkins were superb! Easy access. Great selection of food and drink. Bar was amazingly easy to get a drink from.
The castle is the perfect event space! One of the best I've experienced! Really well organised and layout is really good.
Perfect venue . Music was fantastic from new to well established bands. Made an unforgettable 2nd gig for my daughter. Thank you Colchester x
the space and the venue i felt was just right, very well laid out. loads of toilets, if you had to queue it wasn't very long also make sure to nose at the doors when your up front there where a couple vacant ones not being used, plenty of food option not much option in beers and cider. merch store was a bit overpriced and nothing you couldn't get of the internet not that, that is the venues fault. bins could have done with a more proactive clean up only saw bins getting cleared. there where also no real signs around Colchester about the event and if you enter by the castle that the wrong entry but no signs to say that. anywho great day out
Perfect organization, No queues at the bars, toilets etc Fantastic location Great gigs, especially Skunk Anansi rocked it It was worth it, to come from Germany to joyn your event
