About
Everything Is Connected: The Best Of Blancmange UK tour
Neil Arthur’s Blancmange was soon among the vanguard of synth pop artists sweeping the 80s after the release of their first album, Happy Families. Formed by Arthur on vocals and guitar and Stephen Luscombe on keys in the late 70s, their 1982 debut included the hits ‘Living on the Ceiling’ and ‘Waves’.
Their experimental second studio album, Mange Tout, followed two years later, which featured popular tracks such as ‘Don't Tell Me’, ‘Blind Vision’ and a cover of ABBA’s ‘The Day Before You Came’, which famously charted higher than the original. Third LP, Believe You Me, was released in 1995, which Smash Hits called “a selection of songs so varied yet simple that they make the whole thing seem practically effortless.”
The pair parted ways after performing at a Greenpeace concert in London in 1986, but reunited in 2011 for Blanc Burn. The following years were his most prolific, releasing a string of albums including the five-parted Nil By Mouth, Commuter 23 and Private View. After a UK tour with fellow synth pop mainstay Howard Jones, in autumn 2023 Arthur announced Blancmange’s first ever Best Of tour entitled Everything Is Connected, which stops at cities including London, Glasgow, Nottingham and Leeds in May and June 2024.
