About
As founding members of the British band Gomez, Ian Ball and Ben Ottewell have shaped the sound of indie rock with their eclectic blend of blues, rock, folk, electronic and experimental influences.
Gomez first made waves with their 1998 debut ‘Bring It On’, which won the Mercury Prize. Ian and Ben’s contrasting vocals and musical style became a defining feature of the band. They followed with the atmospheric ‘Liquid Skin’ (1999) and the more experimental ‘In Our Gun’ (2002), each expanding their musical reach.
The band continued to evolve with ‘Split the Difference’ (2004), ‘How We Operate’ (2006), ‘A New Tide’ (2009), and their latest, ‘Whatever’s On Your Mind’ (2011). Alongside these, fan-favourite rarities from ‘Abandoned Shopping Trolley Hotline’ (2000) and the ‘Machismo’ EP (2000) will also be featured, ensuring that every phase of Gomez’s creative journey is represented.
Both Ian and Ben have pursued successful solo careers, but their chemistry remains as strong as ever. Their show offers a rare opportunity for fans to experience the full scope of Gomez’s music, celebrating their enduring legacy and creative partnership through songs that have defined their remarkable three-decade spanning career.
