  • Everyone needs to get some Love into their lives!

by The Elusive Stranger on 21/07/2024O2 Shepherds Bush Empire - LondonRating: 5 out of 5

Forever Changes is a seminal album and to see it performed in full by the Love band featuring Johnny Echoes is in itself, a joy by any standards. What I wasn't prepared for was for it to be so amazing. Not a note or beat missed. The string and trumpet accompaniment bang on. And Johnny Echoes has lost nothing in his guitar playing over the years. Having played the album in full, they went off and returned to play more songs from their back catalogue including tracks from Da Capo, and exiting the stage to a standing ovation, leaving me alone again…or.

This more than authentic band with one original member - Johnny Echols, play magic again. With songs from first four albums and a couple of Arthur Lee compositions. We are treated to a plethora of regal quality with a great sound engineer to treat the audience, many who would not of been born when the albums were released. A pleasure to see them grace our shores again.
