The New York trio of brothers – Adam, Jack and Ryan Met – have turned into an international phenomenon. Forming AJR (taken from their first initials) in 2005, the indie-pop group are known for melding everything from electronic beats to barbershop harmonies and Broadway tunes in their music.
Their 2013 breakout single I’m Ready, inspired by SpongeBob SquarePants’ beloved catchphrase, earned platinum certification not only in the US, but also in Australia and Canada.
AJR unveiled their first album Living Room in 2015. Released on their own label, AJR Productions, all of its songs were written, produced and mixed in the living room of their NYC apartment.
The band broke through with their 2016 track Weak and its accompanying video that showed the brothers passed out on a subway car as well as beckoned by the light of temptation. Included on their second album, 2017’s The Click, that song along with Sober Up featuring Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo propelled their fun sound to an even wider global audience while opening up opportunities to appear at festivals such as Forecastle, Reading & Leeds, Bumbershoot and Firefly.
AJR’s third album Neotheater followed in 2019 and marked their biggest first week debut at No.8 on the Billboard 200 chart.
On its heels, they revealed the 2020 blockbuster BANG!, which they performed at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. AJR’s fourth album OK Orchestra arrived in March 2021 and also contained the hits Bummerland, Way Less Sad and Christmas In June.
In September 2021, AJR teamed up with the band Daisy The Great on the track Record Player and announced a UK tour for September and October 2022.
