About Will Varley

Will Varley is a British folk singer and co-founder of the arts collective Smugglers Records.

Varley began playing open mic nights in London in the early 2000s, before moving to Kent in 2010 and setting up Smugglers Records with the band Cocos Lovers. He released his debut album Advert Soundtracks in 2011 and his second album As The Crow Flies followed two years later.

By 2015 Varley had signed a record deal with Xtra Mile Recordings and released his third album, Postcards From Ursa Minor, in October that year. The album reached number 11 in the Official Independent Album Breakers Charts and saw Varley tour the UK opening for label mate Frank Turner, culminating in a show at London's Alexandra Palace.

2017 has seen Varley tour Europe, opening for Valerie June, and the US, opening for both Turner and Lincoln Durham. While on stage at Glastonbury 2017, Varley played two new songs and said he was working on new material for an album to be released in the autumn.
