Have you seen the audience, Van?

Van Morrison's concert was characterized by its high quality and the great musicians. However, the atmosphere was very subdued, as Van Morrison didn't seem to be paying any attention to the audience. It seemed to me as if it were a studio recording, and very often his back was turned to the audience. Such a shame! He came on stage without saying anything to the audience (a "thank you" once in a while) and left without even saying goodbye... That's extremely strange. I found it particularly irritating that there was no encore at all. The band members then played their solos, which were all very good. But Van Morrison was nowhere to be seen. I really missed the lack of audience interaction. What is pleasing, however, is that at his age of almost 80, I think his voice still holds up well. However, I won't be going to one of his concerts again.
