About

Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme…

Bookish outsider Belle is sent on a dangerous rescue mission when her father is held captive in an imposing castle. When she gets there, she discovers an enchanted place presided over by the terrifying Beast.

Belle exchanges her freedom for her father’s and soon becomes embroiled in a race against time to melt her captor’s frozen heart and save the Beast and his castle’s colourful characters.

The story has been told many times over, but never more famously or enduringly than in Disney’s magical 1991 animated feature film, which won two Academy Awards. Beauty And The Beast was remade as a live action musical in 2017, starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans and Kevin Kline.

The Beauty And The Beast stage show made its debut in 1995 when it was adapted for a run on Broadway, featuring the original music and lyrics by Oscar-winners Alan Menken and Howard Ashman (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin) and Tim Rice (Aladdin, The Lion King, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat).

The original creative team reunited to bring the Beauty And The Beast musical back to the stage in 2021, starring Courtney Stapleton (Dear Evan Hansen) as Belle, Emmanuel Kojo (Girl From The North Country) as Beast and X-Factor winner Sam Bailey as Mrs Potts.

**Beauty and the Beast contains theatrical smoke and fog effects, video projection as well as strobe lighting during parts of the show.
