  • Mixed bag

    by Pauline 70 on 04/08/2025Cornbury Park - OxfordshireRating: 4 out of 5

Glorious Basement Jaxx, Olive Jones, Stilostrings and the commentary on the naked cricket and aerobics class. Less successful Ocean themed talk and music from Wilderness Orchestra- too much at once. Great space, vibe and food.

  • Changes: always for the better?

by Snibs on 04/08/2025Cornbury Park - OxfordshireRating: 4 out of 5

We found the new layout around the entry/camping layout/ entry to the arena less successful than previous years. Heightened security checks we suppose are a sad necessity. We felt that missing entry via the Sanctury left that area a bit empty and sidelined which is a shame as it's a fundamental part of the Wilderness experience. We missed the Barn and the Jumpyard open in the day. We found the standard of the food outlets getting too like all other events: less choice and poorer quality. The showers were fabulous and the loos magnificent!! 😊 The feasting was magnificent (Imad's Syrian Kitchen) The team behind the cricket etc were on amazing form as ever. Great fun. The music on the main stage was amazing. Basement Jaxx were the absolute best. Looking forward to next year!

  • The feel of the Festival has changed

by Jezza on 04/08/2025Cornbury Park - OxfordshireRating: 4 out of 5

There are still many very good things about Wilderness Festival but since the change of ownership the character of the festival has changed. Independence and the unique feel has been replaced by a strong corporate bias. The bars have become branded and with that the prices have gone up and the relaxed atmosphere has been reduced. The other big change was the fervour with which the security checked bags when entering the arena from the campsite. Even our tiny bags had all the pockets checked and we were forced to either drink or empty our water out as we were told there was water available to buy in the arena. Another example of the corporate creep? It made us feel like children and resulted in long queues from the campsite. The variety of acts at the festival was still evident and whilst there were some brilliant things (I know that is a subjective view) there did appear to be less of them resulting in no real problem with clashes this year. The addition of Sofar Sounds was a great addition. The fact that the dress themes were reduced from one for each day to just Saturday was maybe another example of the corporate cookie cutter approach. I do hope that Wilderness will be allowed to return to is decadent roots and be the free flowing slightly hedonistic festival that it always has been.

  • Great vibe and people but music line up lets it down

by The Cheese on 10/02/2025Rating: 3 out of 5

I have been going for the past 5 years with a group (after 20 years of Glastonbury which has outgrown me) and generally stay outside the festival but am thinking about having a year off. The music line ups have been getting steadily weaker and although 2025 looks a bit better than 2024 it doesn't come close to Latitude (both in terms of headliners and depth of talent) which is very comparable in terms of pricing, size and demographic/audience .There seems to be a definite underinvestment in the music line up and most other activities -as good as they are-are expensive add ons. Everything else is great-the Riddle tent was an excellent addition, Andi Oliver was a stand out feast, I enjoyed the comedy tent ,the best music was the playlist for the Blacklock Sunday roast and Bjorn Again was fun but I noticed a drop off in numbers in 2024 and if the organisers keep trying to put together the line up on the cheap I can't see the audience growing but maybe that's the point...

  • 3rd time at wilderness and loved it.

by SMC on 07/08/2024Cornbury Park - OxfordshireRating: 4 out of 5

The only thing I would change would be to put the bar back down the valley as it's a pain climbing the stairs and back down every time you need a drink.

  • Absolutely Brilliant

by SHS on 07/08/2024Cornbury Park - OxfordshireRating: 5 out of 5

Our first time for 8 of us and Wilderness and not sure what to expect, well we had an amazing time, so friendly, chilled, such a variety of things to see and do and completely bonkers too! Would thoroughly recommend to anyone thinking about going!

Inclusive and respectful. Fun. Great things to see.

  • Such a fun and free weekend

by Too old to rave on 06/08/2024Cornbury Park - OxfordshireRating: 5 out of 5

Without doubt this is an upmarket festival and it leans into that in a positive way. The sheer range of things on offer is beyond anything antbody could possibly want or need. The atmosphere is friendly engaging and feels very inclusive, i hope everyone there felt that. Food in the chefs lunches and dinners is of a good stanard. The food trucks are what they are and def need a bit of a kick as they are in the main very ordinary but edible. Entertainment is so varid. Standout artists where Faithless and Jessie Ware. I will of course mention Spooky-cash-cash as a brilliant DJ in the Valley. Also the Alergies where very good albeit they where in the small JumpYard stage !! Also Vanity fairy on the People Stage was very good The Playing fields always offer such good fun.............. check that out I can't recommend Wilderness to people with an open mind any more than just saying GO.

  • Wilderness

by Mozza on 06/08/2024Cornbury Park - OxfordshireRating: 4 out of 5

Positive: Flushing toilets in camp site The Riddle absolutely brilliant new venue. The quality and quantity of food venues. Female urinals..game changer The diverse and brilliant offerings. The base sound bath. Nine lives yoga, brilliant sessions The opportunities to learn so much from music to politics to books to crafts to dancing to challenge perceptions. The people, a really friendly atmosphere. The togetherness tent, excellent opportunity to learn how to converse and get what you want. The weather the wilderness gods were definitely on our side Warm showers. The staff, lots of people around making the place feel safe. The site was kept clear and reasonably litter free. The Negatives. No showers within "quite camping" The location of quite camping right beside the throughway of people returning late at night. To support better communication I personally think the togetherness tent would be better placed in a quieter environment. More free standing water taps would be helpful.

  • Good, but was better last year

by Bekko on 05/08/2024Cornbury Park - OxfordshireRating: 3 out of 5

Was a bit disappointed by the headliners this year, but had booked my tickets based on the 2023 line up. Constant searches when entering the campsite and arena are also annoying. Finally would like a more affordable babysitting service, so I could use it more often! Apart from that was marvellous! Great vibe, stalls, food, music, performers, a lake to swim in and clean showers and toilets!
