Underworld are a true one-off – at home headlining the world’s biggest festivals and events, playing underground techno clubs and warehouses, sound-tracking theatre productions or taking over art galleries, disused shoe shops and Japanese department stores.
Having cemented their place in the ’90s underground techno scene, the group’s definitive breakthrough came in 1996 when their timeless anthem ‘Born Slippy (Nuxx)’ became the soundtrack of a generation after it was featured in the film Trainspotting. The success of that single catapulted the band from the underground into the heart of the mainstream.
The following two decades saw them build on that success while never compromising; selling millions of albums, performing countless sold-out shows, providing scores to productions by Academy Award winning directors Anthony Minghella and Danny Boyle, exhibiting in galleries, and sound-tracking the Opening Ceremony to the London 2012 Olympic Games. The critical and commercial success of the band’s Grammy nominated 2016 album ‘Barbara Barbara, we face a shining future’ saw them headline stages at Coachella, Glastonbury Festival and Summer Sonic.
In the thirty years since that mould-breaking debut album, dubnobasswithmyheadman, the duo have established their reputation as one of the most groundbreaking and important electronic acts of all time, one that constantly pushes creative boundaries, twists genres, and refuses to stay still.
Thirty years on, their new album - Strawberry Hotel - is no exception. This release adds to their already extensive catalogue of euphoric electronic tracks such as 'Techno Shinkansen' and, of course, 'Born Slippy' – each one calling millions of people to the dancefloor globally.

Lovely venue, big enough to still have room to dance. Underworld were superb, love their music, we danced to evening away...
Piece Hall is a great summer venue, and the atmosphere was amazing. Two storming sets from Rick and Karl, and dazzling light show after sunset. Just wonderful. Do not miss them.
Absolutely awesome performance from Underworld, When I got the message to say they were starting the on stage at 7 30 I thought we were going to have a short gig but they were on stage for 2 1/2 hrs overall and were awesome. Terrific gig in a fantastic venue. Loved it🤗😄
Amazing gig & venue & met the beautiful Emma from Huddersfield ❤️
Experience a little spoiled by gig starting half an hour earlier, poor entrance staff, unnecessary searches. Fab venue though.

Absolutely fantastic. What a performance. Only criticism is getting a text at 1852 telling us that they were on at 7.30 instead of 9. Luckily we live nearby but people living further away may have missed the beginning
