About

A dominant force in Manchester’s dance music scene

The Warehouse Project, or WHP as it’s commonly known, is a series of club nights that take place between September and January. Held each year in Manchester, these events feature producers, artists, bands and DJs from diverse genres of electronic music.

Launched in 2006 at the disused Boddingtons Brewery site in Strangeways, The Warehouse Project typically runs every weekend, starting in autumn and wrapping up after their massive New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day closing parties.

Boasting the best in house, techno, trance, dubstep and much more, over the years WHP party goers have enjoyed performances from some of the best electronic music acts from around the world including deadmau5, Aphex Twin, Annie Mac, Happy Mondays, The Prodigy, De La Soul, Dizzee Rascal, Four Tet, Foals and Patrick Topping, among many others.

Year after year The Warehouse Project raises the benchmark for its series. In fact, the 2019 season was one of the most daring to date with much of the action occurring at the 10,000-capacity venue Depot Mayfield, a historic former railway depot in the city centre on the south side of Fairfield Street.

Two years in the making and marking a long-awaited return to the dancefloor, in May 2021 WHP organisers announced a momentous return to Depot Mayfield in autumn. Launching on 10 September 2021 and running through to New Year’s Day, The Warehouse Project’s 2021 season will begin with a re-opening sequence of unique shows designed to get everyone under one roof again for a full spectrum of music and cultural immersion, followed by a full season of not-to-be-missed events.
