Enduring indie pop band fronted by Ian Durie
Lightning Seeds are the brainchild of writer, singer, guitarist and producer Ian Broudie. Ian originally emerged from the post punk Liverpool music scene of the late seventies playing in the band Big in Japan which in turn led to him producing several bands, starting with Echo & The Bunnymen.
In 1989 Ian as released his debut album as the Lightning Seeds Cloudcukooland featuring the hit single ‘Pure’. Second album Sense followed before the release of the seminal album Jollification in 1994 which has sold nearly 1 million copies to date.
In 1996, the single ‘3 Lions’, recorded for the England football team's Euro 96 campaign, topped the charts many times over. That same year Dizzy Heights and 1999’s Tilt were released to critical acclaim before Ian returned to his producer roots. Ian soon began to develop hit albums the likes of The Coral, The Zutons and many more.

What a great concert! The songs sounded just like the record. A breathtaking live experience. Ian Broudie's voice sounded as good as it ever did. A really tight live band too. I thoroughly recommend seeing this band live!

The sound was awesome, the drummer was something else and Ian Brodie was so welcoming to the crowd. Nothing flash, just 100 minutes of non stop class.

Fantastic revival of old favourites and new. Great to see the band performing so well and happily together. Always nice to hear the old tracks, but as they play so comfortably together, hearing them jam and riff through songs, allowing Ian to showcase his guitar skills and play with lyrics to his library is great to see and to hear. Got more and more of the crowd jumping towards the end. A-side tracks (and some b-sides) is always a perfect touch to the line up. Great track listing and great performance

This was the 4th time ive seem the Lightning seeds. They are still as amazing as they were preforming 35 years ago. I absolitely loved it
As part of my soundtrack of the Nineties, the Lightning Seeds have a great back catalogue. Their gig at Oxford was a brilliant night of entertainment with back to back hit songs and a positive uptempo energy - highly recommended
Awesome band, great entertainers, have all the sound that they did 30 years ago. The venue of O2 in Oxford though dissapoints, very very scrubby.
