About
Cradock formed Ocean Colour Scene with fellow band members Simon Fowler, and Oscar Harrison, Damon Minchella 21 years ago. After releasing ‘Moseley Shoals “and “Marchin Already” they were set in stone in the British Music scene, selling millions of records world wide and 2 number one Albums. 10 studio Albums later, the band are still as strong as ever, a band that are never off the road touring at lease once a year as well as Festivals.
Steve has a reputation of being one of the hardest working musicians in the industry obviously 24 years with OCS takes priority, but since 1992 he has been an ardent member of Paul Wellers band too. Steve has played, written and contributed to many of Paul’s albums, such as ‘Wild Wood’, ‘Stanley Road’, ‘Heavy Soul’, ‘Heliocentric’, ‘Illumination’, ‘Studio 150’, ‘As Is Now’, ‘22 Dreams’, ‘Wake up The Nation’, ‘Sonik Kicks’ and of course Paul’s latest album, ‘Saturns Pattern’. As well as extensive touring across the world through the years with him too.
In between the above projects for the last 2 years Steve has also taken to the road with The Specials a band he loved in his teens and couldn’t resist Touring with which has now extended into working on there new studio album in 2016 followed by another huge world tour.
Cradock’s side projects have included 3 solo Albums. ‘Kundalini Target’, ‘Peace City West’, ‘Travel Wild - Travel Free’ which he has also been airing on the road with The Steve Cradock Band since 2008. Supporting the likes of Amy McDonald, Beady Eye and Miles Kane.
Many great musicians have joined him on stage during these gigs including Mani from the Stone Roses, Andy Crofts from the Moons/Weller Band, and James Buckley from the Inbetweeners and of course Paul Weller.
