Busted and McFly go head to head

Pop rock legends Busted stormed the stage at McFly’s sold out 21st birthday headline show at the iconic O2 Arena in London to announce they will be going head to head on tour together in 2025!

The Busted vs McFly Tour will see the two groups visit some of the UK’s biggest and best venues.

Speaking of the tour, McFly threw down the gauntlet and commented: “Busted gatecrashed our show last night (not cool), and challenged us to a VS tour next year. They’re old men now, and we are gonna blow them and their carers off the stage next year. We’ve had a great time celebrating our 21st birthday this week and next year is going to be even better - P.S Busted Suck."

Busted fought back and added: "There’s been a lot of talk recently…. This is where the talking ends….! We are ready to show who is the better band once and for all. McFly suck and Busted Rock!"

It’s been over 20 years since both band’s formed and they are still two of the most loved and successful British bands, inspiring many other artists over the past few decades.

Busted burst into the charts with their debut single ‘What I Go To School For,’ leading to hits like ‘Crashed The Wedding,’ ‘Year 3000,’ and ‘Air Hostess.’ Their 2023 album ‘Greatest Hits 2.0’ hit #1, 21 years after their debut. With three albums peaking at #2, 4.5 million sales, and two BRIT Awards, they’ve sold over 2 million tickets across multiple sold-out tours.

McFly’s 21-year journey began with ‘Five Colours In Her Hair,’ leading to seven #1 singles, 10 million sales, and a BRIT Award. Their latest album ‘Power To Play’ hit #2, and they celebrated their anniversary with sold-out shows, including two at the O2 Arena.

  • Floor plan was wrong

by Claire on 19/10/2025Rating: 1 out of 5

Booked tickets for AO Arena using the floor plan provided by the website. Got to the arena and the floor plan was completely different and we were seated in a different area meaning our seats weren't as good as what we had chosen and view was restricted. Miss sold the tickets but won't take accountability

  • Beautiful north review

by Ashleigh on 19/10/2025AO Arena - ManchesterRating: 5 out of 5

We were seated in the beautiful north. The staff were amazing and the food and drink selection was perfect. Great views of the stage and good atmosphere.

  • Great Show, Horrid Venue

by Elbow on 19/10/2025AO Arena - ManchesterRating: 5 out of 5

The show far exceeded expectations, the bands were fantastic. The AO arena on the other hand, is an absolute joke. The staff are slow, the queues and congestion caused is unacceptable. Even if you're not queueing you can't move around them easily. Feels like they go out of their way to kill your pre-show excitement. Co-op Live is a bit of a trek and can take a while to get inside but once you're in it's easy to get refreshments and use the bathrooms. AO arena is the complete opposite. Well located, easy to get in, but then the nightmare begins.

Such a good gig! Loved how long it lasted, loved how they all came together at the end! Shame about James but fab idea to involve his brother so Busted didn't have to pull out

This show was amazing! So much energy. I certainly felt like I'd gone back to my teenage years. I'd certainly go and see them again The only downside... I wasn't able to pick a side 😂

  • Very good but loud

by Kat on 01/10/2025P&J Live, Aberdeen - AberdeenRating: 4 out of 5

Was great to see both bands. Both put on a fantastic show. Unfortunately Sometimes the microphones were too high so you couldn't make out what they were singing or Sometimes even speaking.

  • Out of this world

by Mia on 01/10/2025P&J Live, Aberdeen - AberdeenRating: 5 out of 5

The first time I seen both these band I was 11/13 and they were fantastic then. They were even better this time. It was also our first time at p&J live and it was a fantastic layout and we were close to the stage.

Arrived at the venue queue moved quickly, security helpful outside and inside. Didn't realise how good an area I have booked my tickets for lots of space round us, no pushing and couldn't have been closer to the stage! Met some lovely people too! All in all a great night

  • First time seeing McFly at Ally Pally

by Trainspotter & metalhead on 13/05/2025Rating: 5 out of 5

I remember the first time I saw McFly about 2 years ago. It nearly made my eyes pop out. They played at the Alexandra Palace performing arts theatre on the Power to Play tour,. LostAlone opened up the show for them and other acts James Bay and Rou Reynolds from Enter Shikari were there. It was a great experience for me.
