Trend-setting Afrobeat sensation known for his party-popping songs

Pre-order the album Made In Lagos (The Deluxe) released 27 August 2021 here

One of Africa’s biggest musicians, Nigerian singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known by his stage name Wizkid, first started recording music at the age of 11.

He rose to prominence in 2010 with the release of the lead single Holla At Your Boy from his debut album Superstar. The record spawned two other hits in Tease Me/Bad Guys and Don’t Dull.

By 2012, Wizkid had founded his own label, StarBoy Entertainment, and issued his sophomore album, the self-titled Ayo, in 2014.

International recognition came in 2016 when Wizkid collaborated with Drake on the global hit One Dance, which reached No.1 in 15 countries including the UK, US, Canada and Australia.

His third album Sounds From The Other Side was released in 2017 and featured guest appearances from Drake and Major Lazer. Wizkid went on to collaborate with London grime star Skepta on the track Energy (Stay Far Away) in 2018.

In summer 2019, he not only performed a rousing headline set at The Ends festival in Croydon, but also brought his Starboy Fest to the UK for two huge shows that autumn.

Wizkid scooped a Grammy for his part in Beyoncé’s Brown Skin Girl, which won the Best Music Video category at the 2020 awards ceremony. That year, his fourth album Made In Lagos also debuted at No.15 on the UK albums chart and received critical acclaim.

In June 2021, Wizkid unveiled the docuseries A Superstar Made In Lagos. Celebrating 10 years since the release of his debut album Superstar, it contained 10 interviews with artists and mentors who inspired him as well as reflections from Starboy himself. The following month, Wizkid announced a huge UK show at The O2 in London on 28 November 2021 as part of his Made In Lagos Tour that will engulf fans in the unique sounds, live instrumentation and vibes of Lagos as well as celebrate his 10-year discography. Due to demand, he added a second date on 29 November and a third date on 1 December 2021.
