About

Danish trio fusing rockabilly and metal with a heavy dose of classic rock

Volbeat are two decades deep into a career that has found them sharing stages with genre legends like Black Sabbath, Metallica, Motorhead, Slipknot, Megadeth, Anthrax, and more.

They have racked up nearly three billion cumulative streams over the course of their career, earned gold and platinum certifications all over the world, scored a Best Metal Performance Grammy nomination for 'Room 24 (feat. King Diamond)' from 2014’s acclaimed (and U.S. gold-certified) Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies, and have won multiple Danish Music Awards.

At this stage of the game, Volbeat doesn’t have anything to prove. Not. A. Damn. Thing.

In 2025, Volbeat announced their return with Gods Of Angels Trust, with an accompanying UK tour later that year. With God Of Angels Trust, the Danish band – which has scored ten #1 songs on the Billboard Mainstream Rock airplay chart, the most ever for a band based outside North America – has thrown caution to the wind, ignored comfort zones, and paid little heed to traditional songwriting in the search for something more immediate and surprising. The end result will thrill Volbeat's dedicated legion of fans.

"In the past, I've taken a long time to write and obsessed over so many elements of the songs before finishing them," says Poulsen. "This time, I wanted to make a Volbeat record without thinking too much about it. Instead of following any kind of structure I said, 'Okay, there are no rules. I can do anything I want. I can start with a chorus or do songs that are just a bunch of verses stacked on top of each other. Anything goes.' That was freeing for me and made it exciting to write this album."

Poulsen's excitement to thwart convention is palpable throughout God Of Angels Trust, a punchy, crunchy album that's undeniably Volbeat, yet marches to a fresh new metallic and melodic energy.

As impressive as it is that Volbeat wrote and recorded an entire album in about five weeks, what's more incredible is that God Of Angels Trust sounds as fleshed out, eclectic, and fulfilling as albums that have taken 10 times longer (or more) to create. In the end, creating such a strong album so quickly was a tremendous challenge that demanded Zen-like calm, a joy for exploration, maximal creativity, and razor-sharp concentration to pull off.

"In some ways, it feels like we've come full circle,” Poulsen explains. "If you start drawing a circle over an extended period of time, eventually you've going to get back where you started, and that's how I feel now. I've dealt with medical operations, lineup changes, and all these things, and now it feels like a rebirth. It doesn't feel like we're doing our ninth studio album, it feels like we're on our first album again and there's something really refreshing about that.

Volbeat will return to the road on the Greatest Of All Tours Worldwide, beginning in June and running throughout 2025, reaching the UK in November with special guests Bush and Gel.

  • A night well spent with the GOAT

by Hammer on 14/11/2025OVO Arena, Wembley - LondonRating: 5 out of 5

After a dodgy start with Witch Fever spouting terrorist propaganda and shouting at the crowd who responded.... on came BUSH... never heard of them before but wow what a great live set - excellent drummer, lead and what a voice the singer had (thumbs up) On to VOLBEAT and as i have seen them many times both at their own Gig and at Fests i knew what to expect and boy did they deliver... a few tracks i hoped for wasnt played but with so many to choose from, that was going to happen. All in all another great night out watching Volbeat...

  • Absolutely fantastic

by Justinrh on 09/11/2025AO Arena - ManchesterRating: 5 out of 5

My only gripe was I wish I left my house earlier as I didn't get to do things I wanted before turning up for the show. But the concert was simply brilliant let me start with the support act WitchFever we're good but the sound was off as couldn't bass was too loud so getting the balance of the other instruments was difficult and the lead singers voice was drowned out but performance was good next was Bush and wow they need their own full on tour absolutely fantastic Gavin Rosendale's voice was above and beyond record perfect with every pitch and key I unfortunately didn't take any photos as my spot was taken but from what I could see I enjoyed 5/5 for them and then there was Volbeat themselves the show exceeded beyond expectations every song was enjoyable through and through tolk plenty of photos recorded some songs onto video just brilliant Michael Poulson sounded great and Flemming C. Lund what an excellent lead guitarist all four members given an excellent performance from start to finish four giants on stage giving the crowds just what we want if I given my own score was turned up beyond 11
