About

In past lives, Troye Sivan has been a child actor and a Youtube vlogger, but it’s clear he was born to be a pop star. His songs are made for blurry, salty, joyful summer nights in the club, while the unapologetic queerness of his work has flung open doors for celebratory representation.

Sivan was born in 1995 in Johannesburg and raised in Perth, Australia. As a child, he sang on local Australian TV and began posting covers on YouTube. A talent agent stumbling across his channel led to a stint as a child actor, where he appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine as a young Hugh Jackman and the South African franchise, Spud. In 2012, Sivan started posting vlogs to his Youtube channel and became a minor celebrity on the booming platform.

In 2013, while in talks for a record deal with EMI Australia, Sivan publicly came out as gay in a YouTube video, later stating that it was important to him to embark on a music career in a way that was totally true to himself. In 2014, he released his debut EP, TRXYE, via EMI Australia. Demonstrating a dark electro-pop sound, it charted in the top-10 in the US, while single ‘Happy Little Pill’ was a taste of Sivan’s honest songwriting. He followed this up with a second EP, Wild, in 2015, before embarking on his first headlining tour through the US, Europe and Australia.

In December 2015, Sivan released his debut full-length album, Blue Neighbourhood, on which he continued to delve into an electro pop style, amid stories of coming-of-age, first love and heartbreak. The Guardian hailed the album as “immaculate” in a five-star review. He completed another world headlining tour through 2016. In 2017, Sivan was awarded the GLAAD Stephen F. Kolzak Award for his work towards eliminating homophobia.

In 2018, Sivan released his second album, Bloom. Hits like the sultry ‘My My My!’ and Ariana Grande-featuring ‘Dance to This’ showed off a style that was more sensual, more dance-focused and more indebted to pop greats like Madonna. The album received 5-star reviews from NME and The Independent, with the latter naming Sivan “one of mainstream music's most revered and fascinating talents.” Sivan headed out on another blockbuster world tour through 2018 and 2019. In 2018, he returned to acting with a supporting role in Joel Edgerton’s Boy Erased; he also contributed the song ‘Revelation’ to the soundtrack, which was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song. In October 2018, he appeared with Charli XCX on the hit single ‘1999’.

In 2020, Sivan released the EP In A Dream, which saw him continue to experiment with his style. In 2021, he released the single ‘You’ with Regard and Tate McRae, which topped the US Hot Dance/Electronic chart for eight weeks; and the standalone single ‘Angel Baby’. Sivan also starred in the 2022 movie ‘Three Months’, to which he contributed two original songs, and co-starred in the 2023 television series The Idol

In 2023, Sivan released his third album, Something To Give Each Other, an excellent slice of hedonistic house-pop. Singles ‘Rush’, ‘One of Your Girls’ and ‘Got Me Started’ were global hits, with the former being nominated for Grammys for Best Pop Dance Recording and Best Music Video. The album garnered Sivan yet more critical acclaim, with NME declaring it “perfection”.

Troye himself was absolutely amazing, I've been waiting 10 years and he was absolutely incredible. I can't wait until he tours again. We arrived late and still managed to get close to the stage on the floor. Such an incredible experience and the atmosphere was fantastic.

Had a great time, Troye was a superb act and entertained throughout!

  • Great Show - Security issues

by Gage on 25/06/2024Rating: 3 out of 5

Arriving at the venue was super easy, I got there early as I wanted to get as close to the stage as possible. I was VIP. The first person in line was writing numbers on hands just to make sure no one queue jumped. When VIP was called I was let in with no pat down, no metal detector nothing. The security wasn't very good. Jodie Harsh was fabulous and Troye was too, the choreography was amazing. However the show was short, I wish it were longer. However - great night.

  • Energetic Night

by Chris on 25/06/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

Support act was great and really set the vibe, it was like a party from the beginning. Not to long to wait between support and the main act. Troye Sivan was awesome - he engaged with the crowd and geared everyone up for an awesome night of music. Would fully recommend grabbing a ticket for a great night out!

  • Terrific Troye

Oh boy oh boy! Hot. Hot. Hot. Tremendous Troye. Sexy Sivan. Rush. Rush. Rush.

  • Bitter sweet

by LiveforNoel on 24/06/2024Rating: 4 out of 5

I love Troye Sivan and dragged my newly converted friend with me. I would have loved to pay 200.00 for VIP but I couldn't ask him to, so I got us platinum seats in the only other blocks available. I thought hey they are still platinum and there's always large screens....I was gutted..I mean nothing can take away from the live performance experience but I could barely make out the stage backdrop, or Troye himself and the side screens were so tiny that there wasn't an awful lot of point. It was as though the people at the back just didn't matter. There was room in the standing section and I think they should have allowed some people to move forward. I tried to get something from the merch stall who refused to sell b4 the gig so I dashed straight there after and the lad infront of me got the last lighter and lots of the merch was sold out. It's like begging bootleggers to take ur ££. All that said, Troye was great live and I loved it , the set list was top, would have loved more from Blue Neighbourhood but it was ACE💜 I just want to go again and get better seats.

  • What no signs!

by Steve on 24/06/2024Rating: 2 out of 5

Had ticket but no signage as to what queue to stand in. Then ended up in the slowest queue possible with the security checker have " what a nice day" conversations with people. Just do your job check people and get them in. Also have someone walking the queues advising people to have bags ready and no prohibited items on them such as bottles of water.
