About

R&B outfit whose music is driven by an empowering attitude

Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, the girl group TLC formed in 1990, with the line-up solidifying on Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas in 1991 after Crystal Jones' departure.

Creating a sound that blended elements of R&B and soul with pop and hip hop, they also became synonymous for their sassy, sexy attitude and flamboyant wardrobe.

The trio saw huge success during the mid 1990s and early 2000s, scoring two top 10 records on the UK albums chart that featured four top 10 singles: Waterfalls, Creep, No Scrubs and Unpretty. During this time, TLC released four multi-platinum albums, including 1994’s CrazySexyCool, which received diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of  America.

TLC's accolades poured in over the years as well. With over 70 million record sales worldwide, they are among the best-selling girl groups of all time, following only the Spice Girls and The Andrews Sisters. In 2012, VH1 ranked TLC as the greatest female group ever and placed them at No.12 on their list of the 100 Greatest Women in Music. Billboard ranked TLC as one of the greatest musical trios, along with being the seventh most successful act of the 1990s. Plus, TLC have won four Grammy Awards, five MTV Video Music Awards, five Soul Train Music Awards and a BRIT in 2000 for Best International Group.

Following Left Eye's death in a car accident in 2002, T-Boz and Chilli continued as a duo. They released the album TLC in 2017 and went out on the Whole Lotta Hits tour with Nelly and Flo Rida in 2019.

TLC announced a London headline date on 28 June 2022 as part of a tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of their seminal album CrazySexyCool. The duo are also confirmed in the line-up for Lytham Festival on 3 July 2022 alongside Lionel Richie and Gloria Gaynor.
