Tina Turner was born Anna Mae Bullock in rural Nutbush Tennessee.  She found her break into music when she met musician Ike Turner and joined his band Kings of Rhythm, later marrying Ike and adopting the now legendary stage name, Tina Turner. Ike and Tina formed the Ike and Tina Turner Revue, touring in the 1960s and 1970s with songs such as Proud Mary and River Deep – Mountain High.  Ike and Tina had a turbulent relationship, and Tina escaped her abusive marriage in 1976 before embarking on and finding huge success in her career as a solo performer in the 1980s, with chart-topping hits such as The Best and What’s Love Got to Do with It.

Tina made history in 1988 with an incredible 180k people attending her legendary concert at the Maracana Stadium, Rio de Janeiro. She has gone on to become a huge international music icon, winning 12 Grammy awards. She has a star on the iconic Hollywood walk of fame and is one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time. Tina’s career has spanned many music genres over five decades, including soul, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, dance and pop. Tina re-married in 2013 to German music producer Erwin Bach and currently lives in Switzerland.
