About The Seven Five

New York Police Department’s 75th Precinct, the deadliest and most brutal area of the city in the 1980s, with Brooklyn named the “crack capital” of the world and the scene of New York’s biggest ever police corruption scandal. “Welcome to the land of f**k!”

Mike Dowd, the precinct’s dirtiest cop and key protagonist in chilling documentary The Seven Five, comes to the UK this June to relive what it was like to patrol one of the most violent precincts in Brooklyn during the explosive crack cocaine epidemic. Officer Michael Dowd and Officer Walter Yurkiw became two of the most dangerous drug dealers in uniform and this is their story. Leading double lives, this twisted tale of corruption and greed, loyalty and friendship will be told live on stage in the UK for the first time ever this summer.

The Seven Five is a real-life thriller chronicling the dirty police work and early days of crack cocaine that occurred in 1980s New York. After being assigned to work the toughest neighborhood, temptation and corruption took over and Dowd began to blur the lines between underworld and NYPD, assembling his own gang to work with some of the most dangerous drug lords and gangsters; becoming the most intimidating crooked cop of all time on the hellhole streets of East New York. In this live show he is joined by Walter Yurkiw to share those escapades of drug use, drug trafficking, robbery, extortion and protecting criminals. They will discuss what it was like to be untouchable by both law enforcement and serious criminals, giving the audience an opportunity to dig deeper into these unbelievable scenes with a Q&A with Dowd and Yurkiw.

Dowd’s fearless and standup personality will sparkle as he shares what life was like as a police officer and a gangster in the 1980s early 1990s. He will discuss how his empire came to an end, his 14 years behind bars as a former police officer and how his personal life was ultimately shattered as he travels on his ongoing journey on the road to redemption.

EMPIRE ****  “What a story… This is a siren-flash of a film, charged up in the edit like a true-crime GoodFellas. Entirely appropriate, given Dowd was little more than a mobster with a badge. Seek it out.”
