About

The First Time tour comes to the UK April 2024

Australian hip hop artist and producer The Kid LAROI (born Charlton Howard) has gone from relative poverty to worldwide fame in a short span of time. Born in Sydney in 2003, he was raised by a single mother in an inner-city housing commission block and often floated between friends’ sofas.

Howard first started rapping at the age of 13 as an escape from those hard realities and to process the death of his uncle, who’d been a consistent force in his life. His love of hip hop had grown from hearing his mum play music by 2Pac, Fugees and Erykah Badu.

Deriving his artist name from Kamilaroi, the Aboriginal community his grandfather came from, The Kid LAROI recorded his first verses on his mum’s iPhone. It wasn’t long before he stepped into a studio and started posting his songs on SoundCloud and social media. He self-released his debut EP 14 With A Dream in 2018 featuring the track Blessings.

As The Kid LAROI’s fan following grew, he got a call from Lil Baby, which led to him being signed by Columbia Records. In 2019, he unveiled a series of standalone singles – Let Her Go, Diva and Addison Rae – that were all certified ARIA Gold.

Lil Baby also arranged for The Kid LAROI to provide support on tour for wildly popular Chicago hip hop artist Juice WRLD, who would become his mentor and friend. When Juice WRLD lost his life due to an accidental overdose in December 2019, it affected The Kid LAROI profoundly.

His world changed again a few months later, when he catapulted to fame with the arrival of his 2020 debut mixtape F*ck Love. It was nominated for Best Hip Hop Release at the 2020 ARIA Music Awards, broke into the top 10 of the UK’s albums chart and spawned the viral single Without You. That summer his posthumous collaboration with Juice WRLD titled Go was released and also became a top 50 hit on the ARIA and UK singles charts.

In early 2021, The Kid LAROI was recruited to appear on the track Unstable for Justin Bieber’s Justice album. He later landed one of the most popular songs of the summer alongside Bieber again with Stay, which topped charts globally. The Kid LAROI followed that up with two more hot collaborations – Still Choose You featuring Mustard and Not Sober featuring Polo G and Stunna Gambino. Those songs were all included on 2021’s F*ck Love 3: Over You, the 15-track version of his debut and final instalment in a trilogy trailing late 2020’s F*ck Love (Savage).

In September 2021, The Kid LAROI announced his first ever headline tour for April 2022. About his End Of The World Tour, The Kid LAROI said, “I am beyond excited to share this experience with you all. It's always been a dream of mine to headline a global tour. I cannot wait to see my fans all around the world and give them something that they won't ever forget.”

2023 saw the release of The Kid LAROI's debut album The First Time, which debuted at No.3 back home in Australia and featured the tracks 'BLEED', 'WHAT'S THE MOVE?' and 'TOO MUCH'.

In January 2024, The Kid LAROI announced dates in Dublin, London and Manchester as part of The First Time European tour from 14–17 April 2024.
