We’re easy to get to by all major approach roads, including the M6, M5 and A38, just follow the city centre to Queensway, and our postcode for sat nav is B5 6DY.

Parking

There’s some street parking locally, so check the pay and display options on Milk Street and Coventry Street nearby if you travel by car. The Bullring car park has hundreds of spaces. Entrances are on Smallbrook Queensway and Park Street. The Mailbox car park is also close at Wharfside Street, enter B1 1RD or Royal Mail Street into sat nav and we’re around 600 metres away.

Public Transportation

O2 Academy Institute is just over half a mile away from Birmingham New Street station. Just leave the through the Eastside exit towards The Bullring, please only follow the pedestrian access routes when crossing the busy roads. We also have Moor Street and Snow Hill for other local destinations around the Midlands.

Opening times: 12 noon to 4pm, Monday to Saturday. These may differ on bank holidays, so do check. Opening times will be different on bank holidays, so do check.

Box Office Collection Accepted

Your tickets will be available at the front of house box office, you’ll need to pick up your tickets from the box office once doors have opened on the day of the show (typically 7pm, please check times for your show.) You will need a copy of the booking confirmation, ID and the debit or credit card you used to collect your tickets.

Accessible Seating

The Institute strives to make all the shows at the venue accessible to everyone and to make sure things keep improving. It was built in the early 1900s, so there are challenges, but the venue representatives will do their best to identify issues and come up with practical solutions. Non-professional cameras are fine (no large lenses.) No food and drink can be brought into the venue and no smoking.

It’s always best to check the age restrictions for each event in advance as they vary from show to show. All shows are 14+ but if you're under 16 - we'll translate - that means if you're between 14 years and 16 years, you'll need to come with an adult (someone 18+) please. If it says 14+, 16+, 18+, 21+… be sure to check before you book and remember to carry proof of age if you need it. Miscellaneous

We have cloakrooms where we charge a small fee per item but please plan ahead and do your best to travel as lightly as possible, as we really don’t want to slow you down getting in. So if you really need to bring a bag, please make sure that it’s small (less than laptop size or a small handbag).
