About
Waltzing its way across the UK in 2022
First staged in 2008, Strictly Come Dancing – The Live Tour brings all the joy of the popular BBC One TV show to arenas around the UK.
After the coveted Glitterball Trophy has been awarded for each series, fans look forward to seeing a selection of celebrities and professional dancers hit the road in the new year to showcase their best performances – recreating all the smooth moves and magic live on stage.
In addition to the incredible choreography and wonderful music that Strictly is revered for, the tour offers an evening of dance entertainment that’s full of glitz, glamour and excitement.
Directed and co-choreographed by Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood, it’s a spectacle for fans of all ages. Audiences not only get to watch their favourite stars perform eye-popping routines, but they also vote via text and ultimately decide who wins the Glitterball Trophy during each show on the tour. Several of the judges, of course, are also there to provide feedback, scores and laughs after each performance.
The inaugural edition of Strictly Come Dancing – The Live Tour was hosted by Kate Thornton and judged by Horwood alongside Arlene Phillips and Len Goodman. Actor and singer Matt Di Angelo with pro partner Flavia Cacace often topped the leaderboard.
There have been plenty of highlights from the Strictly Come Dancing live tour over the years – ranging from stunning numbers like Harry Judd and Aliona Vilani’s electrifying quickstep to Jerry Lee Lewis’ Great Balls Of Fire in 2012 to Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell’s rockin’ paso doble to Arctic Monkeys’ I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor in 2019.
Along with Thornton, who’s hosted the live tour numerous times, several celebrities and professionals have also taken a turn at presenting duties including Amanda Byram, Zoe Ball, Lisa Riley, Mel Giedroyc, Anita Rani and Ore Oduba. For the 2020 outing, Stacey Dooley – 2018’s Strictly Come Dancing series winner – returned to host for her first time.
In addition to Dooley, the 2020 tour featured judging by Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli, while celebrities Catherine Tyldesley, Emma Barton, Saffron Barker, Mike Bushell, Kelvin Fletcher, Alex Scott and Karim Zeroual were joined by pros Johannes Radebe, Graziano Di Prima, AJ Pritchard, Katya Jones, Janette Manrara, Neil Jones and Amy Dowden to provide all the dazzling dancing.
Due to the success of Strictly Come Dancing – The Live Tour, another touring show, Strictly Come Dancing – The Professionals, launched in 2010. It showcased electrifying dancing from the multi award-winning pros, with live music and all the expected Strictly glamour. After the inaugural edition, Strictly Come Dancing – The Professionals returned in 2019 and is set for a third fabulous run in 2021.
In October 2020, organisers announced that Strictly Come Dancing – The Live Tour would next be making its way around the country for 33 sequin-filled shows from 20 January – 13 February 2022. What’s more, a brand new show called Strictly Presents: The Power Of Dance will tour the UK from June 2021.
