About

Before the world turned upside down...

Step into the extraordinary world of STRANGER THINGS: THE FIRST SHADOW, at the West End’s Phoenix Theatre.

Winner of this year’s Olivier Award for Best Entertainment, this groundbreaking production is captivating audiences with its gripping storytelling and cutting-edge stagecraft.

Brought to life by a multi-award-winning creative team, this theatrical masterpiece elevates the art of live performance to a whole new dimension, promising an unforgettable experience for theatregoers.

Set in the intriguing world of Hawkins,  this gripping narrative blends small-town charm with a deep-seated mystery. From young Jim Hopper’s busted car to Joyce Maldonado’s dreams of escape, everyday life takes a dramatic turn when newcomer Henry Creel arrives, and the past begins to cast long shadows over the present.

With stunning visuals, innovative design, and a story that pulls you to the edge of your seat, STRANGER THINGS: THE FIRST SHADOW is more than just a play; it's a theatrical phenomenon...

Hawkins, 1959: a regular town with regular worries. Young Jim Hopper’s car won’t start, Bob Newby’s sister won’t take his radio show seriously and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and get the hell out of town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family finds that a fresh start isn’t so easy… and the shadows of the past have a very long reach.

It was an awesome experience that beautifully expanded on the world created by the Netflix show. The acting was fantastic, in particular from the lead who plays the young version of Henry.
