The box office is sited at the Ticket Office on the Upper Terrace and clearly signposted. From Wednesday 8th November 2017 - Tuesday 14th November 2017 the box office opens from 12.00-18.00. On Wednesday 15th November 2017 - Sunday 14th January 2018 the box office will be open 09.30-21.30 EXCEPTIONS: Christmas Day - Closed Boxing Day & New Year's Day - Opens at 12.00 Noon Christmas Eve & NYE - Closes at 18.00 On days when there is a 22:30 skate session, the box office will close at 22.00 On days when there is a Polar Cub Club/Skate lesson, the box office will open at 08.00 On days when there is an early skate at 08.45 the box office will open at 08.15 On Christmas Day the box office is closed.
Cash, cheques and all major credit and debit cards accepted. Diners Club and American Express are not accepted at the on-site box office at Somerset House.
Tickets can be collected on the day from the pre-paid entry point. Take the credit card used for the booking and Ticketmaster reference number as the card holder may be required to sign for the tickets.
No parking available. Public transport is strongly advised.
The venue is accessible for wheelchairs. A ramp gives full access to the viewing area. The Skate Lounge is also accessible. There are two dedicated skate sessions for wheelchair users on Wednesday 29 November and Sunday 10 December at 15.00. Standard adult and child ticket prices apply. To book, customers should call the Ticketmaster Accessible Team on 0800 988 4440. Electric wheelchairs are permitted but must be switched to manual setting whilst on the ice. It is also possible for manual wheelchair users to skate on public sessions. A minimum of 2 weeks notice is required to ensure that essential staffing is in place. Capacity is limited. To book call the Ticketmaster Accessible Team. Please note that wheelchair users must be accompanied on the ice by a competent skater, otherwise an Ice Marshall can accompany wheelchair users (at no extra charge). The companion skater ticket is free.
No large cameras, video cameras, audio recording devices or selfie sticks are allowed on the ice. No bags or bulky items are allowed into skate hire area or on the ice, a pay cloakroom is available for your convenience – the charge is £1 for up to 2 items.
Parents must judge whether their children can skate safely. The smallest skate size available for children is 25 (age approx 3-4 years old). Any person 12 years and under qualifies for a child ticket price and must be accompanied on the ice by an adult guardian. There is a Training Rink available for anyone taking their first steps on the ice. A limited number of Polar Bear stabilisers are available for under eights within the training rink. These cannot be pre-booked or used in the main rink. Training Rink / Polar Bear Stabilisers: - Polar Bears are for children up to the age of eight only. - They cannot be pre-booked - Adults are allowed in the training rink with their children whilst they use the polar bears; bears cannot be used in the main rink.
Customers are advised to arrive 20 minutes early to get their skates on. Please do arrive earlier if you need to leave items in the cloakroom. If you arrive late you will be allowed on the ice but you may not have your full hour of skating. Tickets are only valid for the date and session time booked. Tickets are not transferable or refundable. Skating is a sport with inherent risks. Patrons skate at their own risk. Somerset House Ice Rink is open-air and skating continues come rain or shine, so please dress appropriately. Spectators are welcome at the ice rink at no additional charge. Skate Boot sizes The smallest skate boot is shoe size European 25 (age approx 3 to 4 years old). The largest skate boot is shoe size UK15 / European 49 Eating & Drinking The Skate Lounge serves a range of snacks, warming drinks and has a fully licensed bar - it is open to skaters and spectators. Fortnum’s Lodge, situated within The Christmas Arcade, will serve a selection of light meals during the day and a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in the evening, alongside indulgent sweet or savoury fondues. Tom’s Kitchen, Fernandez & Wells, Pennethorne’s and Spring Restaurant also offer food and drink at the venue. The West Wing will once again transform into Fortnum’s Chrismas Arcade, a pop-up version of the classic Fortnum & Mason Piccadilly store - open to skaters and spectators.
