Snoop Dogg, (born Calvin Broadus) is one of hip-hop's biggest stars. He first became noticed for the track Deep Cover from the film of the same name, before appearing extensively on Dr Dre's the Chronic, the album that made his (and Death Row Records') name.
Snoop's debut album Doggystyle was released in 1993 and was instantly hailed as a modern classic, becoming the biggest-selling hip hop album of all time, (until recently overtaken by 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Tryin).
Since then, Snoop has established himself as a versatile MC, actor and TV presenter. He has worked with the Neptunes, Jay-Z, Eminem, Xzibit and many more artists and can now be described as a hip hop icon.
