Vessel leads an anonymous, masked collective straight out of the UK underground

Enigmatic British band Sleep Token combine post-rock, post-classical, and post-metal tropes with soulful indie pop vocals into a blend that sounds like nothing else. They released their innovative debut album, Sundowning, in 2019 and found mainstream success two years later with the U.K.-charting, This Place Will Become Your Tomb. The anonymous masked collective unveiled their third full-length effort, Take Me Back to Eden, in 2023. The album quickly became an international success, cracking the higher reaches of the carts in multiple countries.

Album tracks, "Chokehold," "The Summoning," "Aqua Regia," "Granite," and "Vore" have collectively amassed over 85 million streams, whilst standout single "The Summoning" has generated some 38.8 million streams alone, causing the track to trend on Twitter and take the #1 song spot on a host of international Spotify viral charts, as well as being selected as a "YouTube Trending Artist On The Rise," featuring on YouTube's homepage, viewed by millions of people every day.

The unprecedented accolades keep rolling in, between the fact that Sleep Token has never played a headline show that didn't sell out, "Aqua Regia" picking up consistent airplay on the Radio One Future Sounds show hosted by Clara Amfo, plus huge pop star, Demi Lovato, sharing Sleep Token's music with her 153 million Instagram followers, Sleep Token consistently smash boundaries that they refused to acknowledge in the first place.

And even though Sleep Token notoriously do not speak to the press (out of necessity, not ego or gimmick), media can't help but write about the phenomenon, reporting on the band's every move; NME note "Sleep Token offer their fans an entire world to immerse themselves in if they so wish. It's a place of escapism, and the foundation of a huge fan community that's dedicated to studying the band's creativity. While they have the same fervor as any other fandom, there's still a notable difference." Elsewhere, Metal Hammer called them "the most exciting band in metal right now, with Revolver bestowing them the accolade of both the ‘Artist Of’ and ‘Album Of’ 2023.

Outstanding event. Sleep Token were amazing. The band were engaged, skilled, sounded great and entertained through the entire gig. The lighting and sound was brilliant, the venue easy to navigate around and the staff helpful. The support act were also great and would see them again too

Wife bought me tickets as a gift, accessing them was easy via the app and we were straight into the venue on arrival. Bill Murray were great as support and Sleep Token were unbelievable - best live gig I've been to (out of quite a few).

by Grace on 01/12/2024Rating: 5 out of 5

I wish I could go back in time and watch this all over again, there's nothing that can compare to the feeling of watching these guys live. The crowd was absolutely amazing and so delightful to be around, it was the best night of my life and would gladly pay thousands if it meant going back to see them live once more.

It's was amazing, just simply that! The band were so good and sounded good even above the instruments your could hear the singing really well. My only want would be is that stage could have a bit more presence to the sides but l'm just being greedy😂

Sleep Token live is so good, they deliver. I've been fan for a couple of years now, but I just understood that this is a band to see live to really appreciate the art as it was always meant to be.

  • WORSHIP

by Stevie on 26/11/2024OVO Hydro - GlasgowRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely fantastic show! If you ever get the chance to see this band, just do it - the music, the lights, the performance, just on another level. Loved it!

  • Visually and lyrically mesmerising!!

by Kieva on 26/11/2024OVO Hydro - GlasgowRating: 5 out of 5

My friend and I had been looking forward to this gig for months, and let me tell you - it blew us out of the water! For our first "ritual" it was just so beautifully done. Vessel sounds incredible live, so close to what he sounds like in the albums, II, III, IV, and the Espera were just as incredible! The visuals and lighting were amazing, a different colour and sequence for each song! It was just an amazing experience, and this review can't give the full experience! You just have to go and witness it yourself!

  • Flawless performance, beautiful production.

by Bear on 26/11/2024OVO Hydro - GlasgowRating: 5 out of 5

Electric, magical performance from Sleep Token. Vessel had the audience in the palm of his hand, the atmosphere in the audience was one of the most charged I've experienced in a long time. The rest of the band had a chance to show off their skill, the backing singers added beautiful harmonies and texture. II deserves a special mention, that drum solo during The Summoning was technical perfection. The stage production itself was stunning, the lighting and lasers added to the already palpable atmosphere. Incredible, emotional experience. Shout out to the staff of the Hydro, entrance and exit to the gig was absolutely seamless, well organised and friendly.

  • Fantastic Concert, Would Go Again

    by JHSuth1843 on 26/11/2024OVO Hydro - GlasgowRating: 5 out of 5

Listened to ST for about a year and a half/two years now, and was stoked for the concert, and they still superseded my expectations. It was an ethereal experience that almost had me crying at times, a perfect blend of genres within a perfect atmosphere. The opening act, Bilmuri, also caught me by surprise, not knowing who they were beforehand definitely added to my enjoyment, and will be listening to more of their discography. 10/10, would worship again.
