Got Back comes to the UK in December 2024

Paul McCartney will bring his acclaimed Got Back Tour to the UK this December. Fulfilling his promise to perform in the UK again, made at his last show here in 2022. To the delight of fans – Paul McCartney has announced 2024 shows in Manchester and London.

Irrefutably one of the most successful singer-songwriters and performers of all time, McCartney is behind the most beloved catalogue in music. With songs such as ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Live and Let Die’, ‘Band on the Run’,  ‘Let It Be’ and so many more, the Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show: hours of the greatest moments from the last 60 years of music – dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles catalogues that have formed the soundtracks of our lives.

This will mark Paul’s first UK shows since his iconic Glastonbury headlining performance in 2022. Hailed as “one of the greatest gigs of all time” by The Times and “a masterclass from the greatest living cultural figure in this country’s history” by The i, it was also Paul and his band’s 500th show together! Paul’s last show in London was in 2018 at The O2 and his last Manchester show was in 2011 at the Manchester Evening News Arena. These UK shows will round off the Got Back tour 2024 dates.

Last week Paul announced his first 2024 live dates and that he’ll be taking his tour to Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru this October. Today, Paul has also announced shows in France and Spain. These dates will see McCartney return for his first live performance in Paris in six years - in 2018 he played at La Defense Arena, where he is making his return. The wait has been longer for the people of Madrid, where he last played eight years ago, in 2016 at Estadio Vincente Calderon.

Paul McCartney launched his Got Back tour in 2022, completing 16 huge shows across the US before performing his history-making set at Glastonbury in June 2022. In 2023 Paul performed 18 shows as the Got Back tour rocked through Australia, Mexico and Brazil.

Paul and his band have performed in an unparalleled range of venues and locations worldwide. From outside the Colosseum in Rome, Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, The White House and a free show in Mexico for over 400,000 people. To the last ever show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park where The Beatles played their final concert in 1966, a 2016 week in the California desert that included two headline sets at the historic Desert Trip festival, a jam-packed club gig for a few hundred lucky fans at Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace, two Glastonbury Festival headline slots and even one performance broadcast live into Space!

Featuring Paul’s longtime band – Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) – and constantly upgraded state of the art audio and video technology that ensures an unforgettable experience from every seat in the house, a Paul McCartney concert is never anything short of life-changing. The Got Back Tour also features the Hot City Horns - Mike Davis (trumpet), Kemji Fenton (saxes) and Paul Burton (trombone). Hot City Horns first joined Paul in 2018 to perform at Grand Central Station ahead of embarking on the Freshen Up World Tour in the same year.

  • Amazing!

I cannot express how much I loved seeing Paul play in person. His talent and energy was amazing. I loved everything about this show, and, as a fan or McCartney and the Beatles, I was in awe. 100% value for money and an experience that I will never forget.

  • Amazing performance

Paul was amazing and I did like the venue. Only negative is the backstage area. This isn't worth it as no where near enough seats, less choice of merchandise and only getting one drink included is not worth the money.

  • Fab One

Went to the concert not knowing what to expect. Last saw Macca in the late 1980s when he was a good deal younger! I needn't have worried he was fab. Just the right mix of Beatles, Wings and solo tracks His stamina is amazing My only gripe was with the organisation of entry to the Coop Live Arena. Huge queues compared to AO events

  • Brilliant Paul

I am still basking in the glow! It was beyond amazing! Paul just gets better and better and he was in top form last night. The show was spectacular, the band phenomenal and Paul will always be the best musician in the history of music. No words can describe the absolute joy of experiencing him performing for 3 hours. That's it!! Just go and hear him for yourself.

Sir Paul was fabulous, a true showman - he engaged with the crowd - special effects were amazing. Loved it ! But the arena needs to get its act together Absolute shambles

  • Blast from my past

Excellent from start to finish everyone so helpful stewards and bar staff were brilliant only downside no choice of beer John smiths or even Boddingtons would have gone down a treat! Hope I'm as fit at 82 as the great Paul McCartney!

  • Mega gig, poor venue organization outside

by SKay on 15/12/2024Co-op Live - ManchesterRating: 5 out of 5

Paul McCartney, was spectacular, a true legend. The venue inside is superb . However outside trying to get in is really poor. 2nd time i have been to the co-op live, i wont go again until it improves access. ( this also happened the 1st time i went) Queued for 50 minutes in the rain, contradicting signage, not enough stewards. Told to queue in one queue, then as we get closer a new queue forms, allowing hundreds to squeeze in front. Never have this trouble at even larger venues. It needs more access points and much clearer signage.

  • Great concert, not so great venue organisation

The sky VIP experience is amazing. The organisation outside before the concert was a bit of a shambles. Being directed to the wrong queue by someone obviously not adequately trained. The lounge however is brilliant ,as are the staff.
