Got Back comes to the UK in December 2024

Paul McCartney will bring his acclaimed Got Back Tour to the UK this December. Fulfilling his promise to perform in the UK again, made at his last show here in 2022. To the delight of fans – Paul McCartney has announced 2024 shows in Manchester and London.

Irrefutably one of the most successful singer-songwriters and performers of all time, McCartney is behind the most beloved catalogue in music. With songs such as ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Live and Let Die’, ‘Band on the Run’,  ‘Let It Be’ and so many more, the Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show: hours of the greatest moments from the last 60 years of music – dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles catalogues that have formed the soundtracks of our lives.

This will mark Paul’s first UK shows since his iconic Glastonbury headlining performance in 2022. Hailed as “one of the greatest gigs of all time” by The Times and “a masterclass from the greatest living cultural figure in this country’s history” by The i, it was also Paul and his band’s 500th show together! Paul’s last show in London was in 2018 at The O2 and his last Manchester show was in 2011 at the Manchester Evening News Arena. These UK shows will round off the Got Back tour 2024 dates.

Last week Paul announced his first 2024 live dates and that he’ll be taking his tour to Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru this October. Today, Paul has also announced shows in France and Spain. These dates will see McCartney return for his first live performance in Paris in six years - in 2018 he played at La Defense Arena, where he is making his return. The wait has been longer for the people of Madrid, where he last played eight years ago, in 2016 at Estadio Vincente Calderon.

Paul McCartney launched his Got Back tour in 2022, completing 16 huge shows across the US before performing his history-making set at Glastonbury in June 2022. In 2023 Paul performed 18 shows as the Got Back tour rocked through Australia, Mexico and Brazil.

Paul and his band have performed in an unparalleled range of venues and locations worldwide. From outside the Colosseum in Rome, Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, The White House and a free show in Mexico for over 400,000 people. To the last ever show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park where The Beatles played their final concert in 1966, a 2016 week in the California desert that included two headline sets at the historic Desert Trip festival, a jam-packed club gig for a few hundred lucky fans at Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace, two Glastonbury Festival headline slots and even one performance broadcast live into Space!

Featuring Paul’s longtime band – Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) – and constantly upgraded state of the art audio and video technology that ensures an unforgettable experience from every seat in the house, a Paul McCartney concert is never anything short of life-changing. The Got Back Tour also features the Hot City Horns - Mike Davis (trumpet), Kemji Fenton (saxes) and Paul Burton (trombone). Hot City Horns first joined Paul in 2018 to perform at Grand Central Station ahead of embarking on the Freshen Up World Tour in the same year.

Fabulous show in a wonderful stadium. Spacious & well organised

  • Merchandise

The overall experience was good. There was a bit of chaos involving the locked entrance doors that caused a very long queue but once inside the security check was quick. The queue at the merchandise stall was too long and once at the front the merchandise was too expensive.

When tickets for the 02 show first went on sale I tried getting them at a decent price but they sold out before I could get some/one. Then dynamic pricing kicked in and I found one in row A level 1 at an enormous price. As I first saw Paul McCartney as a Beatle 63 years ago I just went for it. The first time seeing McCartney was at the Astoria Finsbury Park - in December 1963 and I was 9 years old and was with my 10 year old sister and mum was chaperoning. We saw the Beatles but couldn't hear them through all the screaming. Not a bad first gig was it? So at the O2 on Thursday 19 December and all I can say is wow wow wow. My emotions were all over the place for the 2 and a half hours he performed. His anecotes and the videos used were amazing and so thought provoking... I still have the lump in my throat and rumbling in my stomach. I go to quite a few gigs and this was up there with the best for emotion - the only other one I can say made me feel this way was Springsteen on Broadway. I was also front of the stage at Hyde Park when Paul came on to perform with Bruce Springsteen and the plug was pulled due to curfew time but as we were so close we could still hear them. My one big disappointment of the night was that as I was on my own I left early with two songs left and missed Ringo. Please please make a video of this gig so that I can relive it time and time again.

It was an absolute pleasure and once in a lifetime experience to see Paul live I am a young Beatles fan and I will carry the experience with me my whole life it was nothing like I had ever seen before

  • A Brilliant Concert by Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney performance was brilliant. The downside was that I was sitting next to two morbidly obese people , one of which encroached my seating area by a third due to his huge size , when he stood up , his obese torso squashed me even further to my left , he also had a hygiene issue .Ideally they should have had 3 seats so they and I would have been comfortable.

  • What a show!

Such a great night! Loved everything on the set list and sang all night long, sometimes had a nostalgic tear. It's 51 years since I last saw Paul McCartney and Wings at Leeds University in 1973, but both nights were equally special! Thank you Sir Paul, you did not disappoint!

  • Heaven on a Wednesday!

The most AMAZING concert I have ever been to! The energy and the ability to be able to sing while playing an instrument, and then to switch between 6-7 completely different instruments over and over in a 2h45m show was phenomenal for someone as senior as him! Hands down a true musician through and through! Beatlemania: Even in my wildest dreams, I never thought I would get to see The Beatles live ever! The use of AI and effects was brilliant in recreating the missing members! The tributes to John Lennon and seeing Now & Then live with Paul doing the vocals made me cry openly. Bless you Paul for being so brave infront of 20k people! You are a true star! Wingspan: The lineup for this era was fantastic and full of energy! Band on the Run, Jet, Juniors Farm! Wow! Solo Career: The tributes to Linda with Maybe I'm amazed and to Nancy as your Valentine were beautiful and touching. The rest of the lineup was brilliant. I was lucky enough to be outside the doors when the warm up was in progress before the concert so got to hear Queenie Eye and O-Aye O as well as an added bonus! God bless you Paul, for making this wonderful experience possible for me. I hope and pray to the Universe to keep you and Nancy safe and happy always! Love you!

  • It was absolutely fabulous

I had seen Paul McCartney previously several years ago in Birmingham and considered him to be the best live performer I had ever seen. He was equally good on this occasion. It was a privilege to be at the concert. The venue was also excellent in every respect.

I had failed to get tickets for Paul McCartney Got Back tour both at the presale and the general sale. I celebrated my 50th birthday this year and my son Jude celebrated his 18th. It felt like the perfect gift to ourselves, neither of us having seen him before. The week of the gig we managed to get our tickets through Ticketmaster. Been to lots of gigs over the years, Billy Joel, The Stones, ELO, Tom Petty and so many more but this gig is going to stay with me forever. It's great listening to music at home but nothing compares to that live music experience and this gig was all that and then some. I was pinching myself the whole gig that I was actually there hearing this legend, one of the fab four. This gig gave me all the feels, it was so emotional at parts and you could see the emotion on Paul's face when he remembered John and George. It's been 4 days since the gig and I'm still living off the high of it. I'm just kicking myself that I waited til Paul was 82 years old to see him for the 1st time. He's such a talent and generally just a lovely soul. I wish him the best of health and I hope to see him again. Absolutely smitten now.

  • Great gig, shame about the venue

All I can say is Paul McCartney was absolutely unbelievable, loads of Beatles songs. An amazing show…10/10 The only downside had nothing to do with McCartney. It was that new venue. The Co- op arena, it's a terrible venue. The organisation was nonexistent, nobody knew where they were going. It took us an hour just to get to the entrance, no signs anywhere to be seen. Co-op Arena.. you must do better. 0/10
