About
The Latin, ballroom and modern dance extraordinaire
One of the most popular professional dancers around, Oti Mabuse is a two-time Strictly Come Dancing champion. She won the Glitterball trophy in 2019 with former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher, and claimed it for a second consecutive year in 2020 with comedy legend Bill Bailey.
Appearing on the show since 2015, Mabuse was first partnered with boxer Anthony Ogogo. She came in second with her next partner, soap star Danny Mac. Mabuse has also been paired with Paralympian Jonnie Peacock and cricketer Graeme Swann.
What's more, Mabuse is a dance captain on BBC's The Greatest Dancer TV series. She guided solo dancer Ellie Fergusson to become the series' first winner in 2019, along with Latin and ballroom duo Michael and Jowita in 2020.
Mabuse has won numerous dance titles of her own including eight South African Latin American Championships. She took third place in the World Cup Freestyle Latin competition in 2014.
Born in Pretoria, South Africa in 1990, Mabuse has been dancing with older sister Motsi from a very young age. She was on the German version of Strictly Come Dancing called Let's Dance for two series in 2015 and 2016.
In June 2020, Mabuse announced her debut headline dance tour. Called I AM HERE, the show celebrates all of the influences and inspirations that have shaped her career. It also features electrifying choreography plus plenty of jives and sambas performed by some of the world’s most talented dancers.
In February 2021, Mabuse confirmed rescheduled tour dates for I AM HERE in late spring and early summer 2022.
In August 2024 Mabuse announced details of her UK 2025 Viva Carnival tour. Celebrating everything from the sambas of Brazilian Carnival to the Tangos of Argentina’s Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia, the dance scene at England’s own Glastonbury Festival and the swing of the Jazz Fest in New Orleans, the tour promises the ultimate summer carnival for 2025.
