The LCR itself is an ALL STANDING VENUE with a maximum capacity of 1550 for gigs and slightly higher for Club Nights. Age limits for the LCR are 14 and over for gigs, 18 and over for club nights. Dating back over 30 years, the LCR has played host to anyone and everyone over the years. Over the years acts to grace the stage are U2, Manic Street Preachers, Kasabian, Faithless, Stereophonics, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Iron Maiden, Coldplay. Originally the stage was positioned to the left of the current stage (along the wall between the Hive and the LCR, but was moved during renovations). You may have noticed the Parquet flooring as well. That stems from when the University were doing up the LCR and asked what was required. "A Dancefloor" was the response. Unfortunately it was taken a little too literally and so a proper "Dance Floor" was put in! The Union of UEA Students would like to announce the renaming of our club and gig venue, The LCR to “The Nick Rayns LCR”. The change will take effect from Monday 3rd June.
