Weaving octave-destroying vocals, gut-wrenching ballads and confessional storytelling, singer-songwriter Mimi Webb is proving herself to be a viral pop powerhouse. Her emotional tales of open-heart honesty have captured hearts globally, partly thanks to her dedicated social media following.
Canterbury-born Webb has always shown an interest in music, with influences Amy Winehouse, Emelie Sandé and Sam Smith inspiring her to write songs from age 13, and eventually learn guitar. Around the same time, she enrolled in The BRIT School (Adele, Amy Winehouse) and then went on to study at BIMM in Brighton before signing with Epic Records (Travis Scott, Camila Cabello) in 2019.
Before the release of her debut single ‘Before I Go’, Webb’s impromptu acapella videos gained over 20 million views on TikTok. The track garnered support from social media star Charli D’Amelio, whose videos featuring the track have racked up 90 million views and helped lead to 35 million streams. Her success has since skyrocketed, with follow-up singles ‘Good Without’ and ‘Dumb Love’ making Webb the first UK female artist, since Dua Lipa in 2017, to land two singles in the UK Top 15 before the release of her debut album.
Last October, Mimi Webb released her debut EP ‘Seven Shades of Heartbreak’, which placed in the UK Top 10, and charted in Ireland, Norway and Switzerland. In support of the EP and following on from her 2021 sell-out UK tour, she’s set to play across the UK and Europe, including a huge show at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire to wrap up the tour.
